Axolotls are an aquatic mob in Minecraft that players can breed with the right food. Like most animals in the game, breeding requires triggering Love Mode in two adult Axolotls to spawn a baby one. Players have the option to capture Axolotls and breed them in a controlled environment or feed them in their natural biomes. Breeding can result in different colors, but there's a high chance that the baby Axolotl will match one of the colors of the adult Axolotls it spawned from.

Axolotls can be found in lush cave biomes and appear in five distinct colors. Only the pink, yellow, cyan, and brown Axolotls can be found in the wild. However, blue Axolotls don't spawn naturally. The blue ones can only be obtained through breeding or by using commands. Axolotls can be caught by swimming underwater, approaching one, and using a bucket of water. Buckets can be crafted using three iron ingots in Minecraft, and players will need to collect water in it first before they can capture an Axolotl.

Axolotls are a passive mob, so they won't attack players when they approach. However, they do attack other aquatic mobs such as Tropical Fish. To breed Axolotls, players will need to find and catch Tropical Fish using a bucket of water. Depending on the version, Tropical Fish will spawn in warm, lukewarm, or deep lukewarm ocean biomes, as well as lush cave biomes. Similar to collecting Axolotls, players can swim up to Tropical Fish with a bucket of water and use it to capture them.

How To Get The Rare Blue Axolotl In Minecraft

The easiest way to obtain the rare blue Axolotl is to quickly breed as many as possible. Axolotls can be bred by feeding two adults a Tropical Fish. This can be done by using a bucket of fish and clicking on the adult Axolotls. There is a 0.5% chance that a blue baby Axolotl in Minecraft will spawn even if the parents aren't blue. However, it's much more likely that the baby will be the same color as one of the parents.

Once breeding occurs, the two adult Axolotls will have a five-minute cooldown period before they can be bred again. Baby Axolotls will take 20 minutes to become adults, but the process can be sped up by feeding them Tropical Fish. The time it takes for a baby to grow up will be reduced by 10% for each Tropical Fish the Axolotl consumes. After becoming an adult, the Axolotl can be bred with another adult right away.

The chance for spawning a blue baby Axolotl is the same regardless of what naturally occurring color the adults are. However, after spawning two blue Axolotls, players can breed them as adults to have a higher chance of getting more. Axolotls can be attached to a lead, but they will only survive on land for a short time unless it's raining, so it's better to catch one in a bucket of water when transporting it. Axolotls, like many animals in Minecraft, can be bred to create more.
