A totally normal-looking Minecraft house has been turned into a working elevator thanks to an amazing mod with rich functionality. Deep customization of the Minecraft experience with the help of mods is somewhat of a tradition for the game’s community, especially for lapsed players who crave something brand new.
Recently, the Immersive Portals mod for Minecraft has become quite popular amongst the community. This tool is mostly based on the heavy alteration of the perception of three-dimensional reality. In the video, the player approaches an ordinary-looking cabin, which then smoothly descends down an elevator shaft as if it was a regular feature in the game. According to the author, this impressive display of the mod’s functionality is barely scratching the surface in terms of what it can actually do. It’s called the Create mod, and it’s more of a tool cabinet rather than a single-feature project. Basically, there’s a rich variety of practical modules that can be arranged in different combinations to build incredible machines. By mixing the tools, one can achieve results that would’ve been otherwise impossible in vanilla Minecraft.
While Minecraft’s mechanics can be infinitely improved and expanded with the help of diverse mods, such user-generated tools can also come in handy when trying to go beyond the existing gameplay boundaries. For instance, one player managed to modify the survival title to include a fully playable arcade game on a specially designed machine. The creator of this amazing thing rendered a voxel model of an arcade cabinet, which was used to launch a video game called Billy. Although it's a rather plain and simple romp, the title has certain rules and even win/loss conditions.
