Minecraft’s next DLC pack will let players take control of Batman as he brings justice to the blocky streets of Gotham City. There have been plenty of exciting announcements surrounding Mojang’s hit resource-farming sandbox title over the past few weeks, with a third Minecraft spin-off allegedly in development and a pair of Minecraft tabletop board games set to hit store shelves later this year. Players also continue to build impressive creations with Minecraft, including one build that spans the entire known universe.

In the meantime, Minecraft has also seen its share of fun crossovers with other family-friendly properties throughout 2022. In May, the Angry Birds catapulted their way into the blocky world of Minecraft, though this left many fans divided. Manny the Mammoth and his prehistoric friends then arrived in the Minecraft Ice Age DLC later that month, while Buzz Lightyear landed in time for his latest intergalactic big-screen adventure in the Minecraft Lightyear DLC in July. Later that month, another licensed Minecraft expansion introduced SpongeBob SquarePants and the rest of Bikini Bottom’s citizens to the game. Now, a far darker character is coming to Minecraft, and he is bringing plenty of adventure and crime fighting with him.

A trailer for this super-powered expansion soon followed, showing off blocky versions of Batman and his team of sidekicks as they use their special gadgets and vehicles to challenge villains like Harley Quinn, the Penguin, and even the Joker. Players will be able to explore Minecraft versions of iconic locations like the Batcave, Gotham City, and Arkham Asylum as they battle criminals, solve the Riddler’s puzzles like in the Arkham games, and unlock alternate costumes. To commemorate the announcement of the new Batman Minecraft DLC, players can now get a free Batman Minecraft cap in the Minecraft Dressing Room.

Batman Comes To Minecraft In New DLC

Batman and his fellow Caped Crusaders have been very busy in the world of video games over the past several years, and 2022 looks to be no different. In just a few short weeks, WB Games Montréal will launch Gotham Knights, a superhero action title that sees Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin band together to defend Gotham City following Batman’s death. While there have been some mixed reactions to Gotham Knights’ premise, there has been a recent spike in interest thanks to WB Montréal announcing that Gotham Knights will get a four-player co-op mode in November - just like many fans have requested.

Meanwhile, Batman is finally crossing over into Minecraft sometime soon, though an exact release date for this new Batman Minecraft DLC has yet to be revealed. From what has been shown so far, it looks like Minecraft is letting players explore Gotham City and take down dangerous supervillains in a brand-new way, complete with brain-busting Riddler puzzles and plenty of cute, colorful blocks that can either be protected or harvested to make even more Minecraft creations.
