Mindy Kaling made a name for herself after starring, writing, and directing in The Office. The Morning Show (2019)

The Morning Show was based on the novel by Brian Stelter, Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. It was a series starring big-wigs, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, and more. With Aniston as the protagonist, she fights her way to remain the number one anchor on The Morning Show after off-camera drama takes over the set. Mindy Kaling has a minor role in the show as Audra, appearing in three episodes.

Late Night (2019)

In 2019, Mindy Kaling didn't just star as Molly Patel in Late Night, she also produced and wrote it! Starring Emma Thompson as late-night star Katherine Newbury, Molly appears as a new writer for Newbury's late-night show.

Ocean’s 8 (2018)

Ocean's 8 is a spin-off of the other Ocean's movies that premiered before it, but instead of an all-male cast as the main characters, Ocean's 8 had all women. Starring Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, the movie reveals the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as she's the sister of Danny Ocean. Debbie creates a female ensemble for her new heist, which includes Mindy Kaling's character, Amita. The reviews for Ocean's 8 were mixed but it did remarkably well in box offices, making over $297 million.

Champions (2018)

Kaling stars as Priya Patel in Champions. The show revolves around a single mom living in Cleveland who drives to New York City to hand her incredibly talented son over to his real dad, so he can go to a nearby art school.

Kaling doesn't make too many appearances in the show but her vibes are all over it. After all, she's also the creator and producer of the NBC series. If Kaling fans loved The Mindy Project, they'd also be fans of Champions.

Never Have I Ever (2020)

Never Have I Ever recently dropped on Netflix this year and tells the adorable tale of a 15-year-old named Devi Vishwakumar. Kaling has said that the show is semi-based on her childhood, which is why she created the show and is the executive producer.

For any Office fans out there, Mindy's former co-star Angela Kinsey stars in the show as Ben's mother. The show is only in its first season but already has an 8.0 on IMDb by fans.

Four Weddings And A Funeral (2019)

Also created by Mindy Kaling, Four Weddings and a Funeral is the TV mini-series based on the movie that came out in 1994. The show—which premiered on Hulu last July—is about four friends who reunite for a wedding abroad.

Once the group is in London, secrets are unleashed and drama ensues. However, while the first season did well, there's no word yet if the show will be picked up for a second season.

A Wrinkle In Time (2018)

A Wrinkle in Time is based on the 1962 novel of the same name written by Madeleine L'Engle. The film is a gorgeous retelling of a scientific adventure. The film starred big names like Oprah, Chris Pine, Mindy Kaling, and Reese Witherspoon, and made over $133 million in box offices.

In the film, Mindy portrays Mrs. Who who lives on the planet Ixchel and helps Meg and company find their father Alex. The film is all things imaginative and theatrical, and Mindy is a bright light as Mrs. Who.

Threat Level Midnight: The Movie (2019)

Threat Level Midnight: The Movie was a spinoff of a storyline shown throughout The Office. It's an action movie that Michael Scott had been working on for years, based on the incredible life of Michael Scarn.

The TV special released in 2019 and followed the same premise as the show. After Michael's wife, Catherine Zeta-Scarn, dies, Scarn gets back into the world of being a secret agent.

The special lasted around 25 minutes and starred fellow Office stars like John Krasinski, Creed Bratton, Jenna Fischer, and more. The movie was written by B.J. Novak and produced by Mindy Kaling.

Jay Z: Family Feud (2017)

In 2017, Jay-Z and Beyoncé released Jay Z: Family Feud Ft. Beyoncé. In essence, it was a short video to follow his song "Family Feud" but was much more than a music video. It was a short visual with different messages and lessons throughout. Aside from Beyoncé and Mindy Kaling, other top celebrities made an appearance in the video short. Black Panther's Michael B. Jordan, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants's America Ferrera, and Parks and Recreation's Rashida Jones all make an appearance in the video montage among others.

Legally Blonde 3 (TBA)

Earlier this month, it was released that not only was Legally Blonde 3 coming to theaters but it was being co-written by Mindy Kaling. Due to Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling's friendship, this is the duo Legally Blonde fans have been waiting for. It's known that Kaling has a love for Legally Blonde and all things comically romantic, which makes her the perfect fit for the job. Due to the current climate of things, not much is known about the production of the movie but with Kaling penning the script, it's going to be just what fans needed.
