Star of HGTV's Good Bones Mina Starsiak Hawk is dealing with the devastating loss of her dog, Beatrice. After the pup passed away on Friday, Mina posted on Instagram to pay tribute to her fur baby.
HGTV’s Good Bones follows mother and daughter duo Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak Hawk as they renovate a variety of properties in their hometown of Indianapolis. Thanks to Mina's spunky personality, the series is the perfect feel-good show. Mina is usually full of joy, so it was especially sad to come across her goodbye post to her sweet companion of 13 years, her Belgian-Malinois mix Beatrice. The HGTV star posted a touching note to Instagram for her beloved dog. Anyone who is a pet lover certainly feels her pain.
To grieve the passing of her longtime pet, Mina posted a series of photos showing her cuddling up to Beatrice throughout the years. The pics were accompanied by a poem called called "Waiting at the Door." Throughout the slideshow, Mina’s husband Steve and son Jack Richard are also seen playing with Beatrice. Mina captioned the tear-jerking post with a sweet note to her best friend, writing, “Beatrice has been with me for most of my adult life. She was my girl. Always by my side for a snuggle. If you saw me, she was there; my shadow. Life will be just a little less sweet without her. I hope she got as much happiness out of our time together as I did. You’ll be greatly missed my love.” The post ended with a hashtag saying Beatrice was Mina's ride or die, so it appears these two were beautifully close. Mina's husband, Steve. also took to Instagram to mourn the loss of their fur baby. He posted a series of adorable photos of Beatrice and their family. A few photos even included the dog dressed up in a holiday sweater for family pictures. Steve captioned his tribute with, “Beatrice was a real homie. She was the type of girl that you could take out to the country and not need a leash. The most loyal dog you can imagine. I truly hope everyone gets to experience that type of loyalty from a pet. That love you can see in their eyes is irreplaceable. Beatrice was with Mina for 13 years and I was with her for nearly 8 of those. We know she’s in a better place today with the rest of everyone’s pets.” Take a look at his sweet post below:
It’s a sad week for the Hawk family. Anyone who has ever the loss of a pet knows the sadness that comes with saying goodbye. Our thoughts are with Mina, Steve, and their son during this difficult time.
