PlayStation gamers who have finished up Marvel's Spider-Man in anticipation of the PlayStation 5's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are now eligible for a LEGO giveaway. Chances are, a good majority of PlayStation owners will fulfill the requirements as well. In sales data released earlier todayMarvel's Avengers was revealed as the second best selling superhero game of all time in its launch month. The only game to beat it was Marvel's Spider-Man, which is even more impressive considering that it is a PlayStation exclusive going up against a multiplatform behemoth. Gamers love the webhead, that much is clear.

Developed by Insomniac Games and published in 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man has quickly become an iconic part of the current PlayStation lineup. Insomniac immediately started work on Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the PlayStation 5 launch (and a less talked-about release on PlayStation 4), and there's almost assuredly a full sequel to come after that. In addition, Peter Parker in Marvel's Avengers is a PlayStation exclusive. While it's not known if both games will feature the same Peter Parker, a crossover between the two could only be a boon to future Marvel titles, starting a gaming universe that reflects the brand's connective history in the world of film.

Players who were there since the beginning need only push a few buttons to have a chance to win exclusive swag. PlayStation announced a contest to give away LEGO Minifigures portraying Miles Morales in his black Spider-Man getup. To enter, players have to have finished Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 and achieved the endgame trophy. If players haven't beaten the game yet, they have until October 29 to beat the campaign and enter to win.

The Minifigures were originally intended to be given away as a promotional item at San Diego Comic-Con, but since the gathering moved to the internet, this alternate method of distributing the toy was devised. While LEGO hasn't partnered with Marvel in the world of games in a long while, Miles Morales did make an appearance in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. There, he was an unlockable character for use in free play. The upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 5 will be only the second time the character appears as a suited-up hero in a video game, and the first outside of Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

There's nothing more enjoyable than getting rewarded for beating a video game like Marvel's Spider-Man. Some of the earliest video games on the Atari 2600 used to reward high scores with limited iron-on patches. Since the 1980s, not enough gaming companies have taken up the spirit of that idea. It's obvious that many companies would rather sell piles of branded merchandise rather than give it away, getting a free gift in the mail from a beloved adventure could be a memorable moment that makes players more willing to sign up for the next game at full price, especially if that follow-up looks as good as Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
