The perfect live-action Miles Morales actor exists, according to the writers from Netflix's hit show, Stranger Things. Miles is ready for his next adventure in the sequel to the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The new film sees Miles travel through many different dimensions in the multiverse, with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse rumored to include a live-action dimension. That has now escalated with a producer teasing that a live-action Miles Morales movie is in the works, and Stranger Things' writers know who should play him.On Twitter, the Stranger Things Writers' Room account suggested one of the series' main actors, Caleb McLaughlin, to play the live-action Miles Morales in the possible film.
At 21, McLaughlin could play a slightly older version of Miles than the one in the Spider-Verse movies, with the actor having expressed in the past a desire to lead a superhero film.
Would Caleb McLaughlin Work As The Live-Action Miles Morales?
With the actor being open to a superhero movie role and McLaughlin looking great as Miles in fan art, the next step would be the possibility of it all happening. While he did not have such a big role in earlier seasons of Stranger Things, McLaughlin's Lucas Sinclair finally got a bigger part in the story during Stranger Things season 4, which many consider to be the show's best.
McLaughlin's acting range was in full display in the latest Stranger Things season, with Lucas playing an integral part in Max's story with Vecna, as well as getting the chance to shine on his own and coming through for his friends at a time of need. As he gets older, McLaughlin shows he has the physicality to play a superhero like Miles, as well as the comedic chops that are a signature of both Miles Morales and Peter Parker's versions of Spider-Man.
While McLaughlin is a solid choice to play Miles in the live-action movie, the actor has something that plays against his chances. Miles is usually portrayed to be in high school, and even though McLaughlin will have done that for five seasons of Stranger Things, one of the main criticisms about Stranger Things season 4 was that the kid actors looked too old to still be in high school. However, if the Miles Morales live-action movie is set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then McLaughlin could appear as one of Peter's college friends in Spider-Man 4. That way, McLaughlin could be the live-action Miles Morales.
