Two franchises that nobody thought would come together are those of Mortal Kombat and Sonic The Hedgehog, but the internet is an unpredictable place, and so Mileena The Hedgehog has come into existence. A talented and very creative artist has made a piece of fanart that crosses Mortal Kombat with Sonic, and it's terrifying. Mortal Kombat is known for it's violent and gory gameplay. A fighting game with a crowd of players to choose from, each character has their own set of moves and special powers, and fairly extensive lore for a fighting game fills in each of the character's backstories.
Mileena is a particularly nasty character. She is a duel sai-wielding assassin/evil twin sister of Kitana. Since her conception in Mortal Kombat II, she has evolved into a somewhat ironic sex symbol, being dressed in more revealing clothing with every game, however, behind her veil she hides a smile of pointed teeth that reaches from ear to ear, which she exposes after winning a fight to tear her enemies apart with. She has become one of the most popular characters in the franchise, and after demand from fans, she has now been introduced to Mortal Kombat 11 via the Ultimate Edition DLC. As a scantily clad cannibal, she is not exactly the character that one would associate with the family-friendly Sonic franchise, but somebody imagined it and illustrated it beautifully for everyone to see.
User master_erasis posted their creation on Reddit to be met with both horrified and fascinated reactions. The image that they so proudly presented is a cartoonish picture in the style of a Sonic The Hedgehog character, except with some scary claws and a lethal maw. Her pointed teeth stretch across her pink face and she is dressed in Mileena's Mortal Kombat 11 costume, a short wrap dress and thigh-high boots. The whole character looks a little like Amy from Sonic The Hedgehog went rogue.
Both Mortal Kombat and Sonic The Hedgehog have seen crossovers with all kinds of characters. Mortal Kombat often has "guest" characters that visit from both video game and movie franchises, like when Robocop hoped over into the Mortal Kombat universe. It has also recently been revealed in the Aftermath DLC that the DC universe is part of Mortal Kombat 11's lore, canonically. Sonic has also seen some strange encounters with superheroes, like when he jumped into Spawn's comic book in a crossover with many Image superheroes.
Mortal Kombat and Sonic The Hedgehog are two monster franchises, one of them quite literally. It makes sense that they both would be part of a few crossovers, but a crossover with each other is a nightmare-inducing ruin of childhood memories for some. This remarkably well done Mileena the Hedgehog will leave people impressed and distrustful of every Sonic character they see again.
