The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series is known for it's strange monsters and its cheesy episodes. Though the series is very much a product of the '90s, it's still remembered fondly by a lot of adults - and still being introduced to new kids with streaming platforms like Netflix.

In addition to those strange monsters, the series also had plenty of lines that might make TV audiences cringe today. The cast, however, managed to really sell the story of friendship and teamwork, beginning with their very first lines in the series. Though quite a few of the characters would go on to appear in other series of the franchise, there were 10 total teenagers on the original team in the three seasons that included Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Jason

Austin St. John as Jason in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

First: Nice recovery, Zack

Last: Power up!

When the first episode of the series begins, there's a brief introduction for all of the characters, and Jason's indicates that he's already a team player and a leader. As he and Zack spar, Jason clearly has the upper hand, but Zack tries his best against the more skilled martial artist, prompting Jason's first line of the series, "Nice recovery, Zack."

His last line is actually shared with Trini and Zack as well as the three depart the show. All three Power Rangers end up becoming teenage representatives in a peace summit, but they give one last team call, prompted by Tommy before they go.

Zack

Zack sits on the rocks outside of the command center in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: Thanks for teaching me, Jason.

Last: Power up!

Both of Zack's first and last lines in the series are said to Jason, signifying their strong friendship. Before the introduction of Tommy Oliver, Zack is effectively Jason's second in command for the team. He learns a lot of martial arts basics from Jason before putting his own spin on them, and he's always there when Jason needs him.

Like Jason, his last line comes while he's in uniform in the Command Center. It's the last time Zack appears in the franchise at all, unlike Jason who returns for the Power Rangers Zeo season.

Trini

Trini prepares for a fight with fists raised in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: That was awesome, Kimberly.

Last: Power up!

When Trini first appears, she's on her own in the community center. Like Jason and Zack, she's also practicing her martial arts form, but she's keeping an eye on her friends as well. When she's done with her own practice, she makes sure to comment on Kimberly's gymnastic routine, the first sign that the two are close.

When Trini leaves the team, that friendship is meant to be just as strong, but the audience wouldn't really know that since she doesn't appear in many scenes. That's a result of a lot of recycled footage being used for Jason, Zack, and Trini after the actors for the three characters banded together to try to get raises for the cast and stopped coming to set.

Kimberly

First: Thanks, Trini

Last: I love you guys... Power Rangers!

Kimberly's first line in the series doesn't come until after Trini compliments her routine, and she thanks her friend for that. It's actually a good nod to who she's presented as over the three seasons. Kimberly is always lauded as a great gymnast, a great student, and a genuinely good person, but she waves off the compliments with a smile and keeps going.

Kimberly gets a slightly longer arc than her teammates when she leaves the show behind. Like Jason, Zack, and Trini, however, she still reminds everyone that she's part of the team with a "hands in" moment for the entire team she's leaving behind - including her replacement.

Adam

Adam getting ready to call out his morph in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie

First: Come on!

Last: What do you think that shaking was all about?

When Adam is introduced, it's alongside Aisha and Rocky as they rollerblade through the park. The new trio is meant to be having a good time, but it's placed on pause, primarily at Adam's urging as they set out to save the runaway stroller containing their teacher's son.

Adam urging his friends to do the right thing is a running theme for his character. He's usually very quiet and observant, but he's always ready to help. When the group are turned back into children in the series finale, Adam is the only one to not have a line in his child form, instead, wondering just what's going on before the transformation occurs.

Rocky

Rocky, Aisha, and Adam stand together in the command center as Zordon talks to them in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: Hey, Mr. Anderson.

Last: Billy, can we still morph?

When Adam, Rocky, and Aisha join the show, they aren't students at Angel Grove High. Instead, they're visiting for a martial arts competition. Rocky isn't the one who gets the most attention out of the group, instead drawing attention to others, just as his first line does, introducing the teacher who accompanied the trio for the competition.

Likewise, Rocky's final line in the series draws the audience's attention to Billy after they've all been transformed into children. As children, the group no longer have access to their Power Ranger abilities, which leads into the next series: Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers. The 10 episode season bridges the gap to Power Rangers Zeo.

Billy

David Yost as the Blue Ranger Billy Cranston Power Rangers

First: Hey, fellas.

Last: It appears as if we've finally been defeated.

Billy isn't initially in the community center like the rest of the original team. Instead, he comes into the building after all of their first conversations, ready for a karate lesson from Jason. It's the first indication that he isn't as athletic as his friends. Though he steadily improves over the course of the series, his brain is where his true talents lie.

That's why Rocky and the others look to Billy after they're de-aged to see if he can think of any solution to their problem. When they're unable to morph, however, it's Billy who voices what they all fear - that they've truly been defeated.

Kat

Kat first meets Tommy in the juice bar in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: Yes, I'd like to talk to someone about an animal.

Last: I can't believe this is happening.

Kat's first appearance isn't as a person, but as a cat Aisha and Kimberly find in the park. It's all part of Rita Repulsa's plan to infiltrate the Power Rangers. Kat's first line comes just after she transforms into her real self in the animal shelter Aisha brings her to. After all, why else would she suddenly appear in the middle of an animal shelter other than to see a puppy?

Her last line is said by her de-aged self, and it's an understandable one. By the series finale, Kat has only been the Pink Ranger for a handful of episodes, and she firmly believes in the Rangers after breaking free of Rita's spell. She doesn't believe that they could be defeated so quickly. They don't give up without a fight though as Kat goes on to be the Pink Ranger in two more teams.

Aisha

Aisha sits with Kimberly on the juice bar's patio in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: How's Jacob?

Last: I'm scared.

Though Aisha is shown rollerblading with her friends in the park before she has a line, her first line is in reference to Mr. Anderson's son. It's appropriate since she spends most of her first appearance trying to save his life. It's also appropriate because, like Adam, Aisha is ready to jump into action for anyone, and Jacob is the first person she saves.

Like so many of the Rangers, Aisha has to live a dangerous double life, but rarely does the audience see her truly scared. She's always so ready for the fight that it's easy to forget she and her friends are still teens. When she's de-aged, with no way to morph, as Rita and Lord Zedd seem victorious, she finally admits to her fear. She's not the only one either.

Tommy

Tommy first morphs into the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First: Yeah, same here.

Last: I'm really scared.

Tommy becomes the undisputed leader not long into his time as a Ranger. The best leaders, however, aren't afraid to admit when they don't have all the answers or aren't at the top of their game.

When Tommy first meets Jason, it's in a martial arts competition, and the two are pretty evenly matched, so much so that they tie. Tommy's first line is in response to Jason admitting that Tommy really kept him on his toes during the match, which is fitting, since his last line in the series sees Tommy echoing Aisha. Like Aisha, he's willing to admit that he's scared without having the safety net of their powers, leaving the audience on a cliffhanger for what's to come.
