Some of the first character details have reportedly been revealed for the upcoming Mighty Ducks television series that will stream on Disney+. The news that a Mighty Ducks TV reboot would be made dropped way back in early 2018, but it wasn't set up at Disney+ at that time. More recently, The Mighty Ducks Disney+ TV reboot was officially announced, and now fans are getting into some of the production details of the series based off the popular film trilogy of the early '90s that starred Emilio Estevez and Joshua Jackson.

Some of the few details previously revealed were that unlike the Disney movies, which featured Estevez as a lawyer brought up on drunk driving charges who is forced to coach a youth hockey team as part of his community service, the upcoming Disney+ television series will focus on a 13-year-old boy and his mom. The story will revolve around the mother helping to assemble a new team, coach and practice area for her son Evan and teammates after he gets booted from the Mighty Ducks junior division hockey team. The original Mighty Ducks screenwriter, Steven Brill, has joined the team of executive producers on the Disney+ series.

Now, The Illuminerdi reports that casting is underway for the Disney+ television series and an in-depth breakdown has been revealed for two supporting characters. Expected to have a 10-episode first season with shooting set to start in February in Vancouver, the supporting roles are Adib/Samitar or "Sam," an 11-13 year old African American or Somali boy, as well as Jaden Koobler or "Koob," an 11-13 year old whose skin is so "pale" from being a marathon video gamer who spends the majority of his time gaming in his basement. Read the full breakdowns below.

Adib Samitar/”Sam” is an 11 to 13 year old African American or Somali boy. Sam has mastered skateboard riding and always does things his way. The thrill-seeker rarely turns down a challenge, even deciding to befriend Evan after a violent collision on his trusty board. He joins the squad after realizing that he will be allowed to be a renegade.

Jaden Koobler/”Koob” is an 11 to 13 year old boy, who is said to be heavyset. Koob will never be mistaken for an Olympian, but instead is a hardcore video game player whose skin is pale from long hours of marathon gaming in his downstairs man cave. Though he rarely breaks focus from his monitors, he proves to have an almost superhuman level of dexterity and reflexes that are worthy of a kung-fu master. Koob is wary of joining the squad and will need to be dragged out of his safe space.

The Illuminerdi also points out how it seems from the character breakdowns - as "Sam" is a master skateboarder who is also a thrill-seeker and "Koob" is described as a major gamer whose "superhuman level of dexterity" is that worthy of a "kung-fu master" - each kid on the hockey team will have their own set of unique skills that will only help them to be an asset to the team. The Illuminerdi also wonders if with this set of razor sharp skills described for this two characters, they could possibly be casting the roles of their major defensive player as well as their goalie.

With the love of nostalgia in full swing across all realms of Hollywood, including streaming services, it's fairly easy to see why a Mighty Ducks reboot television series would be a great idea for Disney+. And from the two character breakdowns now revealed, it seems as though they're really willing to capture the spirit of the original films that were fun to watch. It will be quite exciting to learn more about this upcoming series and who gets cast - as fans can all remember the original films starring youngster Canadian Joshua Jackson pretty much got his film career rolling.
