Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers episode 6, "Spirit of the Ducks."

Members of the original youth hockey team reunited in The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers episode 6, providing an update on what happened to the characters after the film trilogy. Disney+'s Game Changers is set a decade and a half after The Mighty Ducks film series concluded. Though the current Ducks team isn't in focus, Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) is a prominent character in the series. To honor some of the original players featured in beloved '90s sports movies, Game Changers invited back a few key figures.

When Bombay was introduced in 1992's The Mighty Ducks, he was a former hockey player-turned lawyer forced to coach a peewee hockey team as part of his court-ordered community service. Initially reluctant to help the team of misfits, Bombay eventually had a change of heart. He revamped the team with his hockey knowledge before leading them to the championship and the Junior Goodwill Games as the United States representatives. Sometime after D3: The Mighty Ducks, Bombay was hired as the coach for a collegiate program but was encouraged to resign after helping a player in need financially. By the time Game Changers begins, Bombay runs the Ice Palace hockey rink but wants nothing to do with the sport.

After allowing Alex Morrow (Lauren Graham) and her son, Evan (Brady Noon), to use the rink as the site of their new hockey team, Bombay begins to open up about his past. This journey back in time escalates when the current Mighty Ducks team hosts a 25th Anniversary event called "The Spirit of the Ducks Gala." Among the invitees includes past Mighty Ducks players like Fulton Reed (Elden Henson), Lester Averman (Matt Doherty), Adam Banks (Vincent LaRusso), Connie Moreau (Marguerite Moreau), Guy Germaine (Garrette Henson), and Ken Wu (Justin Wong). Despite not being invited to the gala, Bombay spends time with his former players to get an update on their lives.

Mighty Ducks Game Changers original team

Fulton is the first person Bombay encounters, which fittingly left Bombay's car with a broken window as a callback to the first time they met in The Mighty Ducks. Instead of a slapshot, the broken window is due to flying asphalt at a construction site where Fulton now works. He's the one who invites Bombay to dinner to get together with some other former players. Averman is in attendance and claims to drive a limo every day to work. When later visiting the Ice Palace, it's revealed he's a limo driver. Banks, on the other hand, is now a public defender and still carries the lessons taught when playing for the Ducks. Upon learning the team is now the cocky powerhouse of the league, Banks refers to the organization as "cake eaters."

Connie and Guy, who had a romantic relationship in the Mighty Ducks trilogy, are now married with three kids. Guy reveals one of the kids is named after Coach Bombay. Connie is now a senator in Minnesota, but it's unclear what Guy does for a living. The same goes for Ken, as the series doesn't unveil any details into his personal lives. That said, he showcases his figure skating skills, showing he hasn't missed a beat since his debut in D2: The Mighty Ducks. In the end, the original team members band together, so Bombay is honored at the gala for putting the Mighty Ducks on the right track. The reunion may have been short, but it wouldn't be surprising for more familiar faces to appear in future episodes of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.
