Disney Plus's new sports show, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changersrecently ended its first season and fans are already crossing their fingers that it gets a second. Like many Disney+ shows, the series banks on the nostalgia of viewers who watched the original The Mighty Ducks trilogy, while also introducing a new generation to the Duck legacy.

The 10-episode first season was met with mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike, earning a Rotton Tomatoes score of 89%. Like the movies, the show revolves around a team of underdogs who are charming and funny as they compete against the very best in their town's hockey league. With high praise and a cult following, a second season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers seem like a sure bet, which has led many fans to brainstorm what they want it to look like.

The Mighty Ducks Actually Win State

The entire first season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers revolved around the newly formed Don't Bothers proving that they had what it takes to make it to the State Championship and win. And while they got close, their State Championship dreams were cut short when one of their teammates suffered an injury.

If the show gets a second season, fans hope the newly named Mighty Ducks can get back to State and show the hockey world that a team of underdogs does have what it takes to take home a win.

More Cameos From The Originals

Since the show is based on an existing franchise, it was no surprise that some of the original cast members of The Mighty Ducks trilogy made an appearance in the series. In fact, that episode is one of the best in the new series.

While most of the main cast reprise their roles for a cameo, some team members were still missing, like Kenan Thompson, who played Russ Tyler in the second film, and of course Joshua Jackson, who played Charlie. Hopefully, these two familiar faces will make an appearance next time.

Stephanie's Kids Join The Ducks

Stephanie is definitely an antagonist for most of the first season. Not only is she the team mom of the defending state champions, The Mighty Ducks, but she's also Alex's boss, who doesn't always know the meaning of boundaries.

However, by the end of the season, Stephanie comes around and even defends the Don't Bothers when Coach T tries to screw them over. Now realizing that Coach T sucks, fans are hopeful that Stephanie pulls her kids from his team and joins Alex and the new Mighty Ducks.

Coach Bombay Gets Reinstated To Be Able To Coach

Coach Bombay has always been the heart and soul of The Mighty Ducks teams, so it was truly a blow to learn that he had given up coaching. Of course, the decision was made for him after he got kicked out of the NCAA for helping out a player.

His standing nearly causes him to have to sit out coaching the Don't Bothers at State, but luckily Alex finds a loophole. Now that the Mighty Ducks are back, fans are hopeful that Bombay can get the issue resolved so he can continue to coach the team.

The Mighty Ducks Get Taken Seriously

The Don't Bothers spend most of the first season being laughed at by everyone around them - even those who aren't in the hockey world. Being a team of underdogs, some of which can't even skate, is definitely what makes the team so great.

However, now that they've defeated the former Mighty Ducks, fans are hopeful that people will start taking Evan and his team seriously - and all underdogs, for that matter.

Sam Gets His Own Storyline

With 10 players on the team, it can be easy for some of the characters to fall into the background. That's exactly what happened to Don't Bothers player, Sam. While Sam started out as an extremely interesting character, as a teenager who never turns down a dare, he got lost during the rest of the season.

Fans were disappointed that Sam didn't get more screentime and are hopeful that he'll become a star character in the second season. After all, there are so many fun things his character could bring to the ice rink.

More Team Bonding

One of the great things about all sports shows and movies is the team bonding that goes on before and after big games. Since the Don't Bothers were thrown together last minute, team bonding was a big part of the first season. From extra practices and team school lunches, to even impromptu sleepovers, it was clear that these kids were not only teammates but also friends.

Fans are hopeful that those bonding moments continue in the second season. After all, a giant sleepover episode is deserved after Logan expressed his sadness that he wasn't invited to the last one.

Tibor & Havel Become More Important

One of the most frustrating things about The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers was the fact that the Don't Bothers had two characters that they did nothing with. Realizing they needed 10 players to compete, the team recruits Tibor and Havel, two Czech brothers who don't speak English.

Instead of giving them an interesting plot where they learn English from their teammates and become important players, the show chose to ignore them. Fans are hopeful that they'll get to know more about these two brothers in the second season.

The Team Doesn't Lose Sight Of Their "Winning Isn't Everything" Motto

At the heart of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and the former Don't Bothers team is the idea that sports should be fun and not ultra-competitive and a kid's entire personality. It's what makes the Don't Bothers such a fun and great team to watch.

The show really stuck to that message this season and even went as far as firing Alex when she got too competitive towards the end. Now that the team has defeated the Mighty Ducks and taken their name, fans are hoping that the new status doesn't go to their heads.

Romantic Relationships Flourish

While it's true that The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is a family-friendly show that focuses on hockey, that doesn't mean that romance can't be found throughout. In fact, in the first season alone, several characters experience love, like Evan and Sofi.

Fans are hopeful that exploration continues with the second season and they get to see their favorite team players experience awkward teen love for the first time. Plus, fans are eager to see if Alex and Coach Bombay's relationship flourishes since there is definitely chemistry there.
