The Midnight Sons are slowly making their appearances throughout the Multiverse Saga, but Marvel should wait until MCU Phase 7 to do anything with the potential team. This select group of individuals is introduced in the Ghost Rider comics, where the allies fight against a terrible demon known as Lilith. Members of the original comic book Midnight Sons team include Ghost Riders Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch, Blade, Hannibal King, Victoria Montesi, Sam Buchanan, Morbius, and Frank Drake. The only character who is actually set to appear in the MCU soon is Blade in his reboot in 2023.

This has never stopped Marvel from changing it up a bit as other characters in the MCU can make up this team in the future, such as Moon Knight and Daredevil. Regardless of swapping members of the team from the comics, it is not the right time for this team to assemble. While the Midnight Sons would add to the darker tone that the MCU has been introducing in MCU Phase 4, the team doesn't fit into the current story arc of the Multiverse Saga.

With MCU Phase 5 fully announced, the only opportunity to introduce this alliance of mystic beings and supernatural antiheroes would be somewhere in Phase 6, which is the final arc of the Multiverse Saga. This does not create enough wiggle room to fully focus on the formation of the group as more members of the MCU's Midnight Sons team still need to be introduced. It would feel odd to not have the Ghost Riders as part of the team and there's no official announcement of those characters appearing anytime soon. Despite it not being the time to form this team just yet, the Multiverse Saga gives Marvel ample opportunities to establish the members of the Midnight Sons in the MCU, so that when the time comes the Midnight Sons can be set in motion.

Marvel Studios is slowly adding darker tones to the MCU with bloodthirsty, more morally gray characters such as Moon Knight, Daredevil, and the Scarlet Witch. They're even releasing Marvel Zombies in 2024, which will be the MCU's first TV-MA-rated show on Disney+. If the film franchise continues down this path, the potential Midnight Sons team would make a perfect addition to this direction. It's comprised of a great mix of individuals, ones on the edgier side of heroism who face more ghastly foes. The multiverse opens up a whole new world of heroes, villains, and catastrophic events, and that helps the next possible saga put together new teams and matchups onscreen. With the potential team members of the Midnight Sons already showing up in various projects, it makes a future project about the team very easy to set up.

The Midnight Sons are a unique group of heroes and are nothing like the Avengers or Fantastic Four. Luckily for them, it appears as though the MCU always has a plan to introduce new team-ups in their projects. MCU projects take time to put together, and though Marvel's Multiverse Saga does not have the right setup for this particular group, MCU Phase 7 could be just what they need to be introduced into live-action for the first time.
