will soon release the Surface Go 3 in a new colorway. The Surface series of computers come in various sizes and configurations. So, while the Surface Laptop Studio can be said to be the top-end model, the Surface Go is the cheapest and the smallest 2-in-1 laptop in the Surface line of computers that anyone can buy. The model is targeted at students and professionals who need a laptop when outdoors.

The first Surface Go model was launched in 2018 and has been followed by two successors. Microsoft offers the latest iteration in four configurations with a starting price of $399. Regardless of the variant a buyer chooses, there is only one color option available, and it is Platinum. However, that is about to change with the launch of a new color.

The Surface Go 3 will be available in Black soon, and official images have provided an early look at the new colorway before Microsoft officially announces it. The photos, which Winfuture shared, show the portable 2-in-1 sporting an all-black paint job. One photo also shows it attached to a matching Surface Go Type Cover keyboard. The accessory isn't new as even though Microsoft only launched the computer in one colorway, users can pick up the Surface Go Type Cover in four color options, including Black and Poppy Red. The optional Surface Pen stylus is also available in black for those who want it.

Still The Same Inside

Microsoft will release the Surface Go 3 in black

The Black version of the Surface Go 3 will have the exact specifications and features as the Platinum version. That means a 10.5-inch PixelSense Display with a Full HD resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and 10-point multitouch. The base model packs 4GB of RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage, and an Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y processor. Those who want a more powerful processor can pick up the 10th Gen Intel Core i3-10100Y variant, which has double the RAM and a faster and larger 128GB SSD. The computer has a USB-C port for connecting peripherals and for charging the device. However, Microsoft recommends users charge with the included 65W Surface Connect adapter. The Surface Go 3 also has a headphone jack, a MicroSD card reader, and a Nano-SIM tray and eSIM for the LTE variant. The front-facing camera is a 5MP sensor supporting 1080p video, while an 8MP sensor sits at the back.

Microsoft's portable computer boasts up to 11 hours of battery life of typical usage for the Wi-Fi version, while the LTE version should provide up to 10.5 hours on a single charge. The black version is rumored to be available for purchase in January 2022 and should be released in the U.S. and other regions where users can currently buy the device. However, availability may vary from country to country.
