Tattoo artist, beauty guru, and former star of Miami Ink, Kat Von D bonded with Anna Faris over having cheating exes. On a recent episode of the podcast, Anna Faris is Unqualified, the stars recounted some of their most standout memories regarding unfaithful partners.
Kat Von D first stepped into the spotlight on Miami Ink, which aired from 2005-2008. After her stint on that show, she acquired her own TLC reality series, LA Ink, which documented her work as a tattoo artist in Los Angeles. The show ended in 2011, but Kat went on to find even more success. She has written multiple books, created and launched a makeup line, and launched multiple clothing lines. She dated a range of celebrities, including Nikki Sixx, Deadmau5, Steve-O, and Jesse James, before marrying her current husband, Rafael Reyes, in 2018. Just a few days ago, she appeared as a guest on Anna Faris' podcast, where she got real about her past relationships.
According to Us Weekly, a chunk of the podcast conversation revolved around Faris and Kat's shared experience with cheating exes. Faris recently divorced Chris Pratt in 2018 and was previously married to Ben Indra, but she didn't mention who she was referring to when talking about the unfaithful behavior. Both women could agree, however, that they didn't see the infidelity coming. Kat didn't name names but spoke of an ex who cheated on her with 18 other women. She said, "I dated someone who cheated on me intensely." She continued, "I don’t even know how it’s physically possible to f*ck so many people. I think I was in denial a little bit. I wanted this to be real and it wasn’t. I used to be a hopeless romantic." Faris even posted a picture alongside Kat for her podcast, see the post below:
Faris echoed her sentiment, recounting a time when she woke her partner up in the middle of the night to ask if he was cheating on her. After being shut down and told she was crazy, Faris started to question her own intuition. "Of course, I don’t want to believe that anything [is wrong], but there was that gut feeling that was starting to grow more and more.” However, she later found out that her feelings were right, and her failure to accept the truth led her to stay in the relationship far longer than she would have liked. While Faris seemed to carry some guilt over her past infidelity, Kat knew exactly who was at fault. When an ex-boyfriend's phone lit up with a cryptic message, Kat delved into his emails and found out he was cheating. Kat recalled, "I'm just grateful that I was in a position to understand that it wasn’t about me," Kat said of the situation, "I think a lot of women get cheated on, or people get cheated on and they feel like they aren’t good enough, or something was wrong with them. I know I’m an amazing girlfriend. This was about his own issues." She also noted that she got stronger through the betrayal, allowing her to build a healthy relationship with her current husband.
Although both the comedian and the Miami Ink star likely wish that they never had to deal with infidelity, they each gleaned something positive from a horrible experience. Faris learned to trust her intuition and believe herself. Kat came to know her own worth and - according to her statements - even improved as a partner after each terrible infidelity. While their past experiences weren't enjoyable, they did give the women a new perspective on relationships going forward. If anything, they now have a better idea of how to avoid cheating partners in the future.
