Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia, Season 6, Episode 7The students of My Hero Academia have been tasked with defeating one of the greatest threats on the battlefield, one that towers over all the rest--literally.

After emerging from his suspended animation early, My Hero Academia's walking Akira reference, Shigaraki put in a call for the aid of Gigantomachia, a giant villain who only listens to All for One (and now, as his successor, Shigaraki). Gigantomachia immediately made a beeline directly for Shigaraki, plowing through a forest to get there. Several Pro Heroes, including Mt. Lady and Midnight, tried various techniques to stop his stampede, but ultimately all failed; Midnight's attempt ended with her falling from the back of the monster, likely hundreds of feet. She had planned to use her Quirk to knock the beast out, but that's no longer an option since the fall. She sent the students, and particularly Momo Yaoyorozu, a message telling them that stopping Gigantomachia is all in their young hands now.

Entrusted with such an incredible task, the students were understandably feeling a bit overwhelmed, but everyone knew the truth: if Gigantomachia were to reach the city, the devastation would be far worse than it already is. And, while the students might not know this, Gigantomachia also has the rest of the League of Villains on his back, which means his arrival will bring Shigaraki a lot more assistance than anyone fighting him now is expecting. It's become imperative to stop the giant no matter the cost; Midnight has already given her life to the cause, and it's up to the students to ensure that her sacrifice won't be in vain. Momo indicated that she's planning to use her own take on Midnight's scheme by creating sedatives to put him to sleep.

Momo Yaoyorozu Steps Up as a Leader

MHA-Momo-Sedatives

In Midnight's brief final conversation with Momo, she encourages her student by thinking back on the times that Momo has proved she has what it takes to be a leader. With their teacher dead and the other Pro Heroes tied up, there's no more important time for her to prove that than now. One of Momo's strong suits is strategy, so she is a particularly good choice to entrust with this mission. Since Gigantomachia has such an advantage in strength and power, the only way that the students will be able to take him down is to outmaneuver him--something which shouldn't be too hard, since Gigantomachia's intellect is inversely proportional to his size. Since most types of sedatives need to be taken orally and a needle would never pierce his skin, they'll have to concoct a plan to keep the giant's mouth open long enough to feed him enough sedatives to have an effect. Momo can create a massive amount using her Quirk, so quantity won't be an issue; it all just comes down to having a plan with a shot at success.

Gigantomachia is always a dangerous foe, and that's doubly true for My Hero Academia's inexperienced student characters. Still, the darkest times are when a new star can shine brightest, so it's up to Momo to seize this opportunity and prove that she's the leader her friends and teachers believe she can be.
