A new work of My Hero Academia fan art channels the what-if possibility of Deku becoming the next successor of All For One. The young hero recently finished off a grim arc of his own, but with Shigaraki/All For One now in hiding and the identity of the traitor at U.A. High School revealed, the question remains: what other schemes the master villain has in store for Deku?

Having been born quirkless, Deku dreams of becoming Earth's greatest hero in a world where superpowers and superheroes have become the norm. Upon a chance encounter with the current number one hero, All Might, Deku gains possession of a new quirk: One For All and enters UA High School, where he trains alongside other aspiring youth to become heroes. While achieving much as All Might's successor, Deku's new power has a mysterious connection with mastermind villain, All For One and his new successor Shigaraki. The opposite of Deku, the young villain plans on destroying the current hero society and  bringing in the age of villains with help from the League of Villains. However, that's not to say All For One's plans don't also involve Deku and his reckless behavior of wanting to become a hero.

Illustrator MYU recently revealed a marvelous piece of fan art on Twitter that reimagines Deku as the new successor of All For One instead of the quirk-destroying Shigaraki. In this alternate version of Deku, the young hero is wearing his signature hero costume, but this time with white hair and a black shawl similar to Shigaraki's current state. What makes this an especially interesting concept is that Deku overcame a dark transformation of his own with similar instances involving All For One.

After the prison break from Tartarus, All For One dispatched a bounty hunter after Deku, forcing him to voluntarily withdraw from UA. Determined to defeat All For One and save innocent lives in the new chaotic world, Deku pushed himself into vigilanteism by rejecting help from heroes like All Might. Because of this, the young hero's outward appearance began to change, causing him to resemble the hero killer Stain. This was a befitting look with heroes becoming scarce in times of true need since the escapees of Tartarus. If not for Class 1-A's interference to help save Deku from himself, the vigilante hero could have ended up playing into the hands of All For One.

One For All and All For One are the Yin and Yang of quirks, making successors Deku and Shigaraki opposites but complementary to each other. As My Hero Academia enters into its final stages the clash of power and morals will be important, making this fan art a heightened circumstance of All For One's endless plans for Deku and Shigaraki.
