Warning: SPOILERS for chapter #373 of My Hero Academia

The heroes of My Hero Academia are repeating the same, tragic mistake that cost them so much in the past. While trying to prevent the villain Spinner from freeing the powerful Kurogiri from custody, once again the heroes fail at the very last moment, just as they did when they were trying to stop Shigaraki's awakening in Jaku Hospital.

During the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, all the Pro Heroes assembled to strike a preventive blow against the Paranormal Liberation Front. Guided by the intelligence provided by Hawks, a group of heroes attacked Jaku Hospital, where Tomura Shigaraki, the leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front, was undergoing a long procedure to obtain incredible powers. Thanks to the efforts of Mirko, Shigaraki's awakening was apparently stopped, but the heroes relaxed too soon, and the villain emerged with a devastating set of abilities that lay waste to entire cities and killed many people.

In chapter #373 of My Hero Academia, a very similar situation is developing. During the final battle between the villains led by All for One (who is now in full control of Shigaraki's body) and the assembled heroes, a mob of angry mutants is led by the villain Spinner to free Kurogiri, who has been captured by the heroes. Kurogiri's powers of teleportation will turn the battle in favor of All for One, so it's mandatory for the heroes to prevent his release. However, despite being beaten and having lost the support of his mob, Spinner still manages to get close enough to Kurogiri to awaken him, which could spell disaster for the heroes.

The Hero Present Mic Has Made The Same Terrible Mistake Again

There are clear parallels between Shigaraki's awakening in Jaku and Kurogiri's liberation. Both scenes take place in a hospital, and in both cases, the last hero to act to stop the villains is Present Mic. In Jaku, Mic actually destroyed the equipment that was sustaining Shigaraki, but then he left to carry away his prisoner, Doctor, leaving behind only the hero X-Less, whose negligence led to Shigaraki's revival. In Kurogiri's case, instead, Present Mic simply hesitated too much, swayed by his feelings towards his dead friend Shirakumo, whose body was used to create Kurogiri. This is the second time that the heroes, and specifically Present Mic, commit a grave mistake in a life-or-death situation.

Kurogiri's liberation could have the same dire consequences that Shigaraki's awakening had. The heroes gained an edge in this final battle by splitting up the villains all over Japan, but this could all be lost if Kurogiri enters the fray with his teleportation Quirk, Warp Gate. The parallels between the two situations are certainly not coincidental. The only way that the heroes of My Hero Academia have to avoid another disaster is for Present Mic to call out for Shirakumo, if there is still something of his friend left inside Kurogiri.
