The E.M.M.I. in Metroid Dread is a deadly, nearly invulnerable machine that chases Samus throughout the game. There is no way to kill an E.M.M.I. with Samus' normal weapons, so players will need to boost her arm cannon to the Omega Cannon if they want to defeat it. There are a few things players need to be aware of before attempting to take out this machine.

E.M.M.I., which stands for Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier, is an enemy type in Metroid Dread that hunts Samus down in special zones, and they are very difficult to kill. Being in any part of the zone will put Samus at risk of being chased. The E.M.M.I. have light indicators for when they are in patrol, search, or pursuit mode. For most encounters, players will need to quietly move around the zone or escape the enemy if Samus is seen.

When an E.M.M.I. chases Samus, it's best to avoid it and get away as quickly as possible. If it catches her, it will trigger an instant kill attack, and Samus will only have a very small window for a melee attack. The attack won't do any damage, but it will stun the E.M.M.I. for long enough to let Samus try to escape again. Samus can also use the Phantom Cloak to move through the E.M.M.I. zones, as long as she doesn't make any physical contact with it. In order to actually kill the robot, Samus will need to charge and temporarily enhance her arm cannon using Central Units.

Players can defeat E.M.M.I. using the Omega Blaster and Omega Stream. Samus can charge her arm cannon at a damaged, fallen Central Unit within the E.M.M.I. zone. Players should be cautious when boosting the weapon as Samus will not be able to move while it's charging. If the robot spots Samus, it will go in for the attack and can potentially kill Samus before the Omega Cannon is ready. The weapon will stay charged for Samus to take out one E.M.M.I., then it will return to Samus' normal arm cannon.

In order to avoid being taken out by the robot before the gun is charged, players should carefully choose when to go for the Central Unit. Using the Phantom Cloak to get around will help Samus reach the Central Unit more easily, and watching the E.M.M.I.'s light indicators will help players see where the robot is lurking. Once the weapon is upgraded to the Omega Cannon, players can blast the robot, and a short cutscene will play showing it being destroyed.

The E.M.M.I. in Metroid Dread are challenging and nearly invulnerable enemies present throughout the game. Defeating these machines requires a charged gun and some strategic maneuvering. With difficult enemies and intense gameplay, Metroid Dread is a dreafully excellent game with plenty of content for players to experience.
