New Men in Black 3 Casting Rumors

It's been a few months since we reported on the possibility of Josh Brolin joining the upcoming Men in Black sequel.

Even though we're no clearer on that particular rumor, Bloody Disgusting is now reporting a couple of other interesting casting possibilities for Men in Black 3.

According to Bloody Disgusting's source, Columbia Pictures is pursuing Borat star, Sacha Baron Cohen, as well as Flight of the Conchord's Jemaine Clement for a character named "Yaz." Though no other details are provided as to what part Yaz will play in the Etan Coen-penned screenplay.

Personally, I'm betting on Yaz turning out to be a prominently featured alien informant rather than a new MIB agent. Both Cohen and Clement, especially when compared side by side, seem to fit into the oddball alien performance category more readily than they would as either the film's antagonist or supporting MIB staff.

The new rumors fit right in with all the hazy information surrounding Men in Black 3, which already includes speculation that Barry Sonnefeld (who directed the first two films) might return, as well as reports that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have both expressed interest in returning - though there's been no official announcement. As previously mentioned, Josh Brolin has also been rumored for a starring role in the film - a rumor we're very interested to hear more about.

What role do you think Yaz will play in Men in Black 3? How do you feel about the casting rumors surrounding the film?

Men in Black 3 is scheduled for a tentative 2011 release.
