Columbia Pictures' Men in Black: International is the fourth installment in the sci-fi franchise, but does it have a post-credits scene teasing another sequel? The Men in Black franchise kicked off in the late 90s, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as a pair of odd couple agents working for a super-secret organization tasked with protecting Earth from malevolent aliens. The first Men in Black was a veritable success, earning rave reviews from critics and moviegoers alike and raking in $589 million at the box office on a $90 million budget. While future movies in the series saw an uptick at the international box office, 2002's Men in Black II and 2012's Men in Black 3 received less favorable reviews and diminishing returns at the domestic box office.

Instead of bringing Smith and Jones back for a fourth go-around, the studio enlisted Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson for a new generation of agents in Men in Black: International. The film is set in the same timeline as the original Men in Black trilogy, with Hemsworth and Thompson's characters are mentored by elder agents played by Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson. Although early Men in Black: International reviews haven't been favorable, the franchise has its fans, as evidenced by the trilogy passing $1 billion at the global box office.

Now as Men in Black: International hits theaters around the world, those checking out the latest installment of this sci-fi film series may be wondering if they need to stick around through the credits for an extra scene or tease. Men in Black: International does NOT have a post-credits scene or any other kind of Easter egg or tease. While the credits of a film are always worth watching to see who's involved in its production, International viewers shouldn't expect an kind of credits scene setting up Men in Black 5.

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Men in Black International

Considering that Men in Black: International has the franchise's lowest Rotten Tomatoes score, and the movie is projected for the worst Men in Black movie opening weekend, it seems unlikely a sequel will get the green light. Even though the Men in Black: International budget is also the lowest of the franchise, it has quite the high bar to clear for the studio to consider sequel possibilities. So perhaps its for the best that there isn't a post-credits scene teasing a direct sequel. Of course, if the movie becomes a surprise hit at the box office and Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are willing to return, then maybe anything can happen.

While fans of the franchise might want Hollywood to take another chance on this sci-fi buddy cop premise, it might be some time before Men in Black 5 hits theaters - if it ever does. In any case, moviegoers checking out Men in Black: International just need to know there isn't a post-credits scene with the film.
