Known for his History channel series Ancient Aliens, Tsoukalos has been the subject of a variety of different memes. For Xbox fans, there are those who proclaim that it is superior to the PlayStation consoles. However, even fans of the Xbox cannot deny that both past and current Xbox consoles have their fair share of flaws.
The original Xbox 360 was an especially huge disappointment for Microsoft and its Xbox division. When the Xbox 360 first came out back in 2005, things appeared to be going smoothly. However, nine months later, things started to fall apart. The company suddenly became flooded with complaints of people reporting that their Xbox 360 consoles were suddenly failing and permanently shutting down.
This problem is the result of the “Red Ring of Death”, which is identified by a ring of three flashing red lights. According to Business Insider, the “Red Ring of Death” issue was something that the Microsoft team did not account for. As a result, the company was not only forced to repair and replace damaged consoles, but also payed to extend the warranty for three years. This one mistake costed Microsoft over a billion dollars.
Furthermore, it took them 3-4 years to completely fix the Red Ring of Death problem. While they may have managed a comeback, it still does not change the fact that they made a serious mistake which costed them greatly.
While it is true that the PS3 sometimes suffers what’s known as the “Yellow Light of Death”, it is not nearly as bad as what happened with the Xbox 360.
5. Xbox Is Watching You
If you thought the $1 billion controversy was one of Microsoft’s biggest issues, think again. Turns out that there was an even bigger controversy surrounding the Kinect, a motion capturing camera that comes with the Xbox consoles.
Around 4 or so years ago, Microsoft was involved with a huge controversy involving the National Security Agency (NSA). It turns out that there was a possibility that the NSA was using the Kinect devices to spy on people without their consent.
Naturally, Microsoft denied any knowledge surrounding these allegations. However, once news about their involvement reached the public and the media, the damage had already been done. Even if they are not true, the mere mention of these allegations is enough to scare people and make them wary. Especially those who had purchased a Kinetic along with their Xbox consoles. Furthermore, it also did not help that around that time, Microsoft was revealed to have also been involved with the NSA’s PRISM program.
The meme above jokes about the potential dangers of bringing an Xbox and the Kinect into one's home. On the other hand, this “Big Brother” mindset could potentially lead to more people turning to the PS4.
Even though Sony’s PSN network got hacked once, it still seems like a safer alternative than the Xbox.

One of the downsides for PS4 and Xbox One owners, is that regardless of the console neither one will allow them to enjoy every amazing game that comes their way.
When one is in the process of deciding which console to buy, there are several factors that must be considered. While console superiority is important, its also important to keep in mind the games exclusive to each console. When one observes this dilemma on a fundamental level, there is not much difference regarding availability when it comes to games like Call of Duty or Overwatch.
However, console exclusives remain a crucial factor. According to Finder, in 2017 the number of titles exclusive to the Xbox One was approximately 67. On the other hand, the number of exclusives unique to the PS4 was around 103.
In its history, Xbox has not always had the best of luck when it comes to exclusive content. This fact is further made clear by Kratos himself. With the release of God of War (2018), the PS4 has earned one more reason why people should but the PS4 instead of the Xbox One. Because it is a PS4 exclusive, Xbox fans are unable to enjoy the thrill that comes with playing Kratos in the latest entry in the God of War franchise.
It seems almost appropriate for Kratos to impart this piece of wisdom to his son Atreus, who is now part of this never-ending console war.
3. You Know It's Bad If Zoidberg Hates It
When the Xbox One was launched back in 2013, Microsoft was expecting their console to be a popular item. According to Kotaku, the hype was pretty big for Xbox Japan during their mid-night launch special countdown event. However, after the countdown things took a turn for the worst.
Contrary to their expectations, barely anyone purchased their console. According to photos on Twitter, stores across Tokyo that should have held line ups for the Xbox One were empty. When you compare these line ups to those during the launch of the PS4, you immediately notice the difference. In short, the Xbox One’s launch in Japan was a complete and utter failure and a huge blow to Microsoft’s pride. It did not help matters once memes referencing said failure started circulating online.
Out of all these memes, one of the most interesting is the one above which depicts a scene from Futurama. Taken from a scene from the episode, “The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings”, the meme uses a modified quote by John Zoidberg to comment on the failure of the Xbox One’s Japan launch.
Now keep in mind, Zoidberg is basically the punching bag for everyone in the series. He lives in a dumpster, is a failure as a doctor (for humans anyway) and does not appear to know the value of a dollar. Thus, when he starts heckling Xbox One for its unbelievable failure, you can’t really get much lower than that.
2. The Joker’s Words Of Wisdom
Remember back when Heath Ledger was The Joker instead of Jared Leto? Without a doubt, those were certainly better days. So far, no one has managed to capture the essence of The Joker the same way that Ledger has. Even though he is a villain that thrives off chaos and anarchy, his words still make a lot of sense. It is what makes him such a skilled manipulator. His talents as a manipulator were so effective, that he managed to transform Harvey Dent, a just and honest man into the criminal Two-Face.
The meme captures, one of the best quotes by Ledger’s Joker to Harvey, making it one of the best moments in the film. Only instead of talking about people he plans to take out, the meme focuses on what happens when people buy either the PS4 or Xbox One.
Due to its popularity, it's not big news when someone purchases a PS4. However, this is different for those that purchase the Xbox One. Due to its lesser quality in comparison to the PS4, most PS4 fans would be quite baffled that someone would choose to buy an Xbox One.
What’s even more astounding is just how accurately The Joker’s words can be used for real life comparisons like this one.
1. Overall Comparison
When it comes to the overall result of the console wars between Sony and Microsoft’s consoles, there are several reasons that justify the PS4’s overall superiority to the Xbox One.
Firstly, players are not required to check in online and do not need to worry about their gaming status if they are not online for over 24 hours. Secondly, the Xbox One has far too many restrictions on the games they use. Players are unable to lend or sell their games. Even used games are viewed as a form of violation. However, PS4 has no such worries.
Plus, after the NSA scares, some people are slightly concerned about the presence of a Kinect camera that comes with the Xbox One. Again, PS4 has no such concerns that players should be wary of. There are also the charges that come with using some of the streaming services on each console. For example, both consoles allow for the streaming of Netflix. However, for Xbox One Live Gold members, a $60 fee is required to use Netflix. PS4 has no such barrier and can be viewed for no charge at all.
Finally, it is also important to consider the overall market price for both items. No matter how you look at it, the PS4 will always cost less. Overall, the Xbox One console has too many flaws and should just go home and sleep it off.
