Screen Rant has an exclusive clip from the upcoming action thriller Agent Game to celebrate its April 8 release in select theaters. Agent Game will also be available simultaneously digitally and On Demand, with a home release on DVD and Blu-ray coming May 24. The Saban Films feature is a high-stakes tale of espionage, in which CIA interrogator Harris (Dermot Mulroney, Amazon Prime Video's Hanna) becomes the subject of a rendition operation thanks to an interrogation gone awry. Backed into a corner and made a scapegoat, he must escape a team of operatives sent to bring him in - including senior intelligence officer Olsen (Mel Gibson, Hulu's Boss Level).

Saban Films have released plenty of thrillers and horror films this year alone, starting with The Legend of La Llorona in January. Not only are they making a name for themselves in the action department, they have also been amassing pretty impressive casts. Aside from the stars already mentioned, Agent Game also boasts performances from Jason Isaacs (the ever-iconic Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter films) as Harris' superior, as well as Katie Cassidy (Black Canary from CW's Arrow) and Adan Canto (from political thriller series Designated Survivor) as part of the team after him.

Canto's character Kavinsky, in fact, appears in the clip below alongside Gibson. Agent Olsen, played by Gibson, is shown to be in the midst of interviewing new members of the agency's special team - a team he now wants Kavinsky to join. Naturally this makes the new recruit suspicious, given that his application has been rejected countless times by the very same institution now looking to work with him. His debatable history with the DOD is the root cause of his current lack of forward momentum, but all of that seems about to change if Olsen has anything to say about it.

Agent Game was directed by Grant S. Johnson from a script written by Tyler W. Konney and Mike Langer. The clip above showcases the tension that's sure to be prevalent throughout the film, especially as the operatives sent to track down Harris begin questioning their orders and each other's motives. It's also an interesting contrast to the trailer, which features Gibson in full-on action hero mode and which emphasizes the gunfights and explosions sure to permeate the back half of the film.

Fans of the genre will also be excited to note that the movie reunites Gibson and Isaacs over two decades after they starred together in The Patriot, Roland Emmerich's epic historical drama about the Revolutionary War. It will also be a treat to see cast members like Mulroney, Cassidy and Canto take on new action roles in a different setting from their more recent work.
