The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has reportedly signed a deal with Disney for unknown voiceover work in exchange for a donation to a charity project. This news comes just a few days after Markle and her husband Prince Harry announced to the world that they were stepping down as senior Royal family members. The announcement to step down and become financially independent while still fully supporting the Queen comes after a six-week stay in Canada over Christmas. In a statement released from Buckingham Palace, the royal couple said they are planning to split their time between the United Kingdom and North America.

Even though the couple has stated they made this decision feeling the support and "encouragement" from the public, things have certainly not been easier for Markle since marrying into the Royal Family almost two years ago. She recently faced public criticism and body shaming after her good friend Jessica Mulroney posted a photo of Markle in a bathing suit to her social media. Also, people couldn't help but talk when they recently noticed that Queen Elizabeth II had removed a photo of Prince Harry and his family which previously sat next to a photograph of Prince William and his family from her parlor table.

E News (via Deadline) reports that Meghan Markle has recently signed a deal with Disney to do unknown voiceover work for a charity project. The partnership with Disney is said to come about in return for a donation to the elephant charity Elephants Without Borders, and it's reported the deal was signed prior to Markle and Prince Harry's plans to disengage from their royal duties. The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry are certainly not unfamiliar with Disney, as they both attended The Lion King premiere last summer, which was held "in support of African Parks," an organization the Prince works with.

E News (via TODAY) is also reporting that Meghan Markle has already completed the voiceover work prior to the couples' Christmas vacation in Canada last month. Of course, Markle is no stranger to show business, as she starred on the popular FX drama Suits for several seasons. The news of this signing with Disney certainly lends itself to the royal couple establishing themselves as financially independent in this progressive move forward into the next chapter of their lives.

After much talk of the complicated relationship Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have with the Royal Family, as Prince William and Kate Middleton were said to be blindsided by their recent announcement, it will be interesting to see where exactly their upcoming passion projects will take place and what they decide to focus on in the upcoming months. After this first announcement of Markle's collaboration with Disneyone of the biggest production companies in business, it's probably only a matter of time until a number of other upcoming projects are announced by the royal couple.
