Actor Megan Fox wants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film franchises. Fox got her start in acting in Holiday in the Sun in 2001, although she made her break into the mainstream media by playing Mikaela Banes in the live-action Transformers film in 2007 alongside Shia LaBeouf. They both returned in their roles for the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Soon after, she starred in the horror/comedy Jennifer's Body, which quickly developed a loyal fanbase. While she left the spotlight of mainstream Hollywood, she has still continued working at her craft.

The MCU and the DCEU have both generated massive franchises with some of the biggest films ever made. The MCU is currently at the beginning of phase 4 of its ongoing series, with Black Widow being released on July 9. The stories have continued over the course of Disney+ series, such as Wandavision and Loki, which act as a way to connect and set up the movies. Meanwhile, the DCEU has James Gunn's highly-anticipated The Suicide Squad hitting theaters on August 6 as the next entry of the franchise.

As covered by The Washington Post, Fox reflected on her life over the last several years, including her career and romantic life. Given that she has been acting for quite some time, she has a more specific career trajectory than she did when she was younger. Fox talked about her desire to be a part of the MCU and DCEU, as she explained that she loved comic books and graphic novels growing up. See below for Fox's comment on her self-reflection moving forward in her acting career:

“I want to grow into myself as an actor. I feel like I spent a lot of years not doing that because I sort of checked out from Hollywood. Now I’m ready to grow into myself.”

Fox's name is generally most associated with the Transformers blockbuster series and the comment she made comparing Michael Bay's directing style to Hitler. She was ultimately fired from starring in the third movie. Fox has talked about her experiences being overly sexualized by the industry, particularly by Bay. These statements were mostly shrugged off by both her peers and audiences of her films. After the #MeToo movement, hopefully it continues to be normalized for people to speak up on such issues.

If Fox were to end up getting a role in the MCU or DCEU, it would not be the first time that she has starred in a movie adaptation of a comic character. In 2010, she played Lilah in Jonah Hex, based on the DC character. Seven years later, the actor landed the recurring role on New Girl as Reagan, which displays a completely different side than most audiences are used to seeing from her. Most recently, she plays the lead role of the well-received horror/thriller Till Death. She is no stranger to action films, so Fox fans will have to wait and see if she ends up starring in an upcoming superhero movie.
