However, several side characters help drive the story. As Cady Heron enters the world of the plastics, she meets many different personalities. Main characters like Regina George are memorable, but supporting characters like Regina's mom June sometimes steal scenes with their funny actions.

Chip Heron

Audiences meet some of the main students' parents in Mean Girls. Certain ones are more memorable than others. However, viewers see Cady's folks multiple times throughout the film. Neil Flynn plays Cady's dad Chip.

Chip is presented in moments when Cady tells them about her plans and the events at school. He is characterized by his apparent cluelessness, especially regarding discipline for Cady. Audiences see him befuddled in laying down the law with Cady for what appears to be the first time.

Shane Oman

Diego Klattenhoff's Shane is Regina's love interest. Although she is sometimes with Aaron Samuels, she is sporadically involved with Shane. He isn't as developed as some of the other supporting characters. However, Shane shows his personality in sequences with Regina.

He is presented sneaking around with her when she is dating Aaron. However, audiences might say Shane's most memorable moment comes when he reveals to Regina that she has been eating high-calorie snack bars she thinks are meant for weight loss.

Betsy Heron

Ana Gasteyer plays Betsy, Cady's mom. She is shown at the beginning of the film when Cady heads off to public school for the first time and in their home after Cady develops friendships.

Coach Carr

Coach Carr is played by Dwayne Hill. He is showcased during scenes when the main characters are in gym class, and they sometimes talk about him when he is off-screen.

Coach Carr's most significant plotline has to do with his relationship with one of the school's students. Some viewers say Coach Carr's speech in Mean Girls doesn't hold up today, while others might say it is one of the film's funnier scenes.

Jason

Principal Ron Duvall

He dons out funny lines with Mrs. Norbury when they recount their lackluster summers at the beginning of the film. However, it is hard to argue he isn't most hysterical when reprimanding the students, threatening to keep them at school until 4 p.m., the lastest he is allowed to keep them.

June George

Some fans say Amy Poehler's June is one of Mean Girls' funniest characters. She is Regina's mom and gave the term "cool mom" a whole new meaning when she came to audiences. She is introduced when Cady first visits Regina's house.

June is hilarious as she tries and fails to connect with her daughter on a personal level. She presents several one-liners at home, but viewers perhaps say her most iconic sequence comes when she films the girls' performance of "Jinglebell Rock" during the Winter Talent Show.
