WandaVision star Paul Bettany has confirmed that Vision is anatomically correct and that ‘it’ is purple. Bettany first played Vision, the android powered by the Mind Stone, in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and despite later being killed by Thanos in Infinity War, Bettany will once again reprise his role as Vision for the MCU’s first foray into television with WandaVision. Set after the events of Endgame, WandaVision shows Vision and Wanda Maximoff living a joyful suburban lifestyle in the 50s/60s setting (their sitcom-inspired life). However, things are not as they seem as the troubling question of Vision’s existence comes to the forefront, which is touched on by Kathryn Hahn’s character in the most recent WandaVision trailer.

Although WandaVision will now hit Disney+ on January 15, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic altering Marvel’s original schedule, the show will still be the introduction into Phase 4 of the MCU. Also, despite being aware that it will explore multiple realities and link to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, not a lot is known about Wanda and Vision’s storyline. However, with the promotion for the show increasing, various bits of information and photos have come out, such as images showing Wanda’s baby bump. What’s interesting about this, of course, is Vision isn’t exactly a human, so Bettany has now answered the very important question of what’s going on down below with Vision.

In an amusing interview with Stir Crazy on Comedy Central’s official YouTube channel, Bettany responds to whether it is true that Vision is “entirely naked” for one episode, which the actor first jokingly replies to by saying, “Yes, hundred percent.” Bettany’s initial sarcasm then led to the question of if we see get to see Vision’s penis, and the WandaVision star then goes onto explain: “There is no nudity, so to speak. But these questions, I think people can answer this question for themselves, whether he does or doesn’t. Vision can change his density, so there’s that.” Naturally, the follow-up question is regarding the color of Vision’s private area, and, of course, “He’s purple,” Bettany confirmed.

WandaVision Vision and Wanda baby bump featured

In terms of finding out new information about WandaVision, the reveal that Vision is anatomically correct and that his penis is indeed purple was perhaps something fans did not anticipate learning about. However, despite the discovery, it does not appear fans will get to see Vision’s purple privates as there is no nudity, “so to speak,” and that would also against Marvel’s desire to appeal to a larger audience. Bettany’s comments will have likely blown many fans’ minds, and Vision’s changing “density” may have also painted various pictures in their heads when it comes to Wanda and Vision.

The comments from Bettany were certainly amusing, and also a fun way to continue getting people to talk about the upcoming Disney+ series. WandaVision is arguably one of Marvel’s most experimental projects yet. Considering it is filmed in front of a live studio audience, capturing the '50s sitcom feel, and that Bettany revealed that he’s never seen Marvel’s Kevin Feige “more giddy and excited,” which is a huge statement considering what Feige has done thus far. Whether or not the show can deliver on the buzz it is generating remains to be seen, but one thing is now confirmed thanks to Bettany, and that is Vision and his purple private parts will be a part of WandaVision (even if it is not visible).
