WandaVision episode 7 brings back an explanation for the multiverse from Thor: The Dark World. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will fully explore the idea of a multiverse. Several upcoming MCU movies and TV shows are confirmed to incorporate the idea of multiple realities, with Loki taking place across the multiverse and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' title highlighting its heavy use of the idea. There are also other properties expected to include multiverse elements, such as WandaVision.

In the lead up to WandaVision, one of the biggest questions fans had about its story is if it would include multiverse connections as well. So far, the MCU has hinted at the multiverse in Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Doctor Strange, and even Thor: The Dark World. Marvel already confirmed Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch is returning in Doctor Strange 2 and that the events of her Disney+ show sets up the sequel. MCU fans have speculated that the Hex transports people to another dimension, which could be one way WandaVision utilizes the multiverse.

In WandaVision episode 7, a legit connection to the multiverse was made by referencing an Easter egg from Thor: The Dark World. WandaVision episode 7's commercial was for a brand of anti-depressant pills called Nexus. The commercial says the pills help "anchor you back to your reality, or the reality of your choice." Unlike some of the past WandaVision commercials, the MCU reference made here is a bit more obscure. This is a reference to the Nexus of All Realities, which was featured as an Easter egg in Thor: The Dark World and is a cross-dimensional gateway to other realities.

WandaVision Nexus

Thor: The Dark World didn't explore the importance of the Nexus of All Realities or Nexus Beings. Instead, the movie included the Nexus of All Realities as one of many Easter eggs on Erik Selvig's chalkboard explanation of the multiverse. This is one of the earliest teases of the multiverse in the MCU, but it hasn't been referenced since then, making the callback in WandaVision all the more noteworthy. The Nexus of All Realities is located in Florida in the comics and is protected by Man-Thing. It's possible the Nexus' location had been changed to Westview, New Jersey for the purposes of the MCU. Man-Thing was previously referenced as a Champion of Sakarr in Thor: Ragnarok too, so he might not yet be the guardian of the Nexus of All Realities in the MCU.

The reference to the Nexus of All Realities only adds another layer of intrigue to what will transpire during the final two episodes of WandaVision. This tease will likely be overshadowed with the confirmation that Agnes is Agatha Harkness and has been the villain the whole time, but the Nexus of All Realities could be tied to her evil plan or how she'll be defeated. Maybe the Nexus will even be used to confirm Evan Peters' Quicksilver is really the one from Fox's X-Men movies. There are a lot of possibilities that come with a link to the multiverse, but it's also great to see WandaVision building off established MCU canon in this way.
