After the events of WandaVision, it’s become clear that while Wanda Maximoff, A.K.A. The Scarlet Witch, may not have a complete understanding or control of her powers - she is by far one of the strongest Avengers, if not the strongest.

Wanda has had to go through more traumatizing events than almost any other member of the team, yet it only seems to make her stronger. It’s been clear to fans watching her journey from side villain to a prominent member of the team that this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Saving Black Widow

Carrie Coon as Proxima Midnight in Avengers Infinity War

Infinity War was one of the first times that Wanda got to show off her raw power instead of holding back. One of the more memorable scenes from the film was while Proxima Midnight was fighting both Okoye and Black Widow.

As strong as the two are, they were starting to fall behind and almost lose the fight. One moment, in particular, showed Black Widow barely holding back Proxima’s blade from her throat. Wanda lifts her up just in time to get pulled through the giant drills, effectively killing her and saving Black Widow.

Getting Inside The Avengers' Minds

In her debut, Age of Ultron, Wanda gets a chance to use one of her lesser-used powers, fear manipulation. With the help of Ultron and her brother, Pietro, distracting the Avengers, she was able to sneak up on almost all the avengers to cause them to see their worst fears brought to life.

Her biggest moment in this scene was being able to reach Bruce Banner, who was hiding in the quinjet and getting him to go full Hulk-rage on the surrounding city.

Defending The Kill Switch

Wanda releases her power after sensing Pietro's death in Age of Ultron

After realizing their mistake of siding with Ultron, Pietro and Wanda switch sides to the Avengers just in time to stop Ultron from using her hometown as a comet to cause mass extinction. In their final moments, Wanda tells Pietro to go with the Avengers to save as many innocent people as they can and leave her to defend the kill switch.

Pietro unfortunately is killed while saving both Hawkeye and a child, and across the town Wanda could feel it, causing her to drop to her knees and unleash a blast of energy that disintegrated all robots near her. While this may not have been intentional, it became clear that her abilities were more than just basic telekinesis and fear manipulation.

Clearing Out Sokovia

Before the final battle in Sokovia in Age of Ultron, the Avengers decide the best way to avoid mass casualties is to have any civilians in the area get up and leave. Running into the main problem of the civilians not trusting Iron Man or the Avengers, Wanda steps up to bat.

Using her telepathy, she is able to send off tendrils of energy across the town. By doing this, she was able to get families and other civilians to drop everything they were doing, get up, and make their way to safety before the fight began.

Entrance In The Battle Of Wakanda

At the beginning of the Battle of Wakanda in Infinity War, Wanda’s main job is to stay by Vision and the Mind Stone so she could protect them and destroy the mind stone as soon as it was safely removed. However, after watching the enemy forces break through the barrier and send out drills that were killing anyone in their path, she leaves her post to fight with her team.

Her big moment comes when she lands in front of Okoye and Black Widow as the drills are heading towards them. With a flick of her wrists, she manages to not only stop the giant drill but break it and toss it aside.

Holding Off Thanos While Killing Vision

Wanda holds Thanos while she destroys the stone in Vision's forehead

One of the more emotional scenes in Infinity War was when Vision made it clear that the only remaining option to stop Thanos was for Wanda to destroy the mind stone and kill him. While the rest of the surrounding Avengers try to hold Thanos back and fail miserably, Wanda starts the process of destroying the stone.

When she notices Thanos got past everyone, she directs one hand to hold him back while simultaneously destroying the stone. Of course, at that point, he already had the time stone and turned back time to get the stone back but she was one of the only ones who effectively held Thanos back, even with his 5 infinity stones.

Astral Projecting & Reading The Darkhold

Scarlet Witch reads and studies the Darkhold

At the end of WandaVision, fans are treated with seeing Wanda in a secluded cabin making a cup of tea for herself. While at first, everything seems normal and like she’s just in hiding, as the camera pans to the back room, fans see her actually levitating while studying the Darkhold.

This showcases her ability to not only create an astral projection but to make it a physical entity whereas Dr. Strange’s was almost like a ghost. This scene also shows her ability to hear other multiverses when her children start calling for help.

While holding back Agatha, a strong witch with extensive knowledge of the mystic arts and the ability to leach other witches’ powers, she is able to trick her with “missed shots” that ended up creating ruins that wouldn’t allow Agnes to use her powers. At that moment, she takes back all the power that Agatha leached and is surrounded by her signature burgundy energy before emerging as the bearer of chaos magic, Scarlet Witch.

Almost Killing Thanos

Wanda lifts two boulders with her powers in the MCU

Endgame gave Wanda the chance at getting revenge on Thanos, one-on-one. While chasing after the infinity gauntlet, Wanda stops and calls him out for taking everything from her, when he replies that he doesn’t know her she says her iconic line “You will” and unleashes on him.

After holding him back, she uses her powers to lift him in the air and slowly rip his armor off, causing Thanos to be genuinely concerned. If it weren’t for Thanos calling in the airstrike, he most likely would have been finished off right then and there - even Monica Rambeau agreed she could have finished him off.

All Of Westview

Wanda creates Vision from her grief

WandaVision has Wanda, in a moment of grief, take a town hostage in an alternate reality within her own reality, mirroring old sitcoms and bring Vision back from nothing. Throughout the show, she casually alters reality by creating items out of thin air or changing the environment overnight.

One moment pulled straight from the comics is when she notices the man who broke into Westview, so she uttered the iconic “No” and changes it so he was never there. She is also able to not only create a pregnancy but give birth to twins in the span of almost two days, and while they did disappear after she stopped everything, it’s clear by the ending that the twins were just sent to an alternate reality.
