Ant-Man was a great addition to the MCU as he brought a different level of comedy and personality to the existing line-up of characters. Paul Rudd was the perfect casting in order to make this character relatable, yet believable as a hero at the same time, and that has been the case for him since his first appearance.
Ant-Man obviously does a lot of nice things due to the fact he is a superhero. His role is to stop the bad guys and that's something he does well with his terrific abilities. But outside of the obvious, what are the nicest things that Ant-Man has done in the MCU?
Naming Antony
This scene is a great example of the comedy and heart that Ant-Man brings into the MCU. While he can't fly as a character, he gets to fly around on ants in order to get to different points, and he ends up becoming attached to one of them.
Rather than just treating it as a means of transport, he decides to name it, Antony. It's obviously a pun due to the fact that it is an ant, but it becomes a great moment of showcasing the compassion that he has, which is different from many heroes in the MCU.
Stealing From The Avengers
While the idea of stealing from The Avengers HQ might seem like the opposite of a nice thing to do, the fact is that Scott Lang is doing it for the right reasons. He is trying to help Hank and Hope Pym as they need to retrieve the signal decoy.
He heads into the area and does his best within this moment, and he has an amazing showdown with Falcon. Ant-Man manages to win the fight and succeed in his mission as well, which makes this moment even more epic.
Rushing To Find Cassie
Ant-Man returning in Avengers: Endgame is an amazing, yet desperately sad moment. He comes back and learns of the snap without fully understanding what has happened, and he searches around desperately for clues. While he reads that he is supposed to be dead, his first thought is of his daughter.
Once things become clear to him, Scott Lang races to see whether Cassie is still alive. It creates an amazing moment between them when she opens the door. While she's drastically grown up, the reuniting moment between them is a special part of the movie.
Taking Fan Photos With Hulk
During Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man ends up having food with Hulk when a group of fans turn up to meet them. However, they have no interest in getting to know Ant-Man and they don't want a photograph with him either, with this potentially being an embarrassing moment for him.
However, rather than allowing that to happen, Scott Lang proves what a nice person he is and instead he happily takes all of the photos that they want. It showcases that he has no ego, or that he's able to leave it at the door in order to make others happy.
Being Honest With The Police
Scott Lang ending up with the Ant-Man suit is something that isn't really supposed to happen, but he manages to successfully steal it. However, he sees the error in his ways and Scott actually heads back to return the suit to Hank Pym, however, it's here where he ends up being caught.
It's a moment where Scott shows what type of person he is, not only in the fact he returns the suit in the first place but also because he apologizes straight away when he gets caught.
Turning Up To Cassie's Birthday
Early on, Scott Lang doesn't have a great relationship with his ex-wife and her new partner Paxton. That much is made clear when he doesn't get invited to his daughter's birthday party after he gets out of prison. But despite that, he turns up anyway.
Scott proves that he wants to be involved and showcases what type of a person he is at his core. He arrives, albeit late, and gives Cassie a present which she loves as he tries to prove that he is going to be different.
Befriending Jimmy Woo
While Jimmy Woo is technically someone who Scott Lang should dislike, that is never the case. While he arrests Scott and has to continuously go to his house to check on his house arrest, the two actually end up growing a fun friendship filled with back and forth jokes.
Scott impresses Jimmy with his use of magic, which is a neat skill he picks up during his time indoors. Meanwhile, at the end of the two years, they almost arrange to go for food, showcasing their budding friendship.
Joining Team Captain America
Ant-Man's first opportunity to interact with the other members of the MCU comes during the epic fight between the heroes as Captain America's team battles Iron-Man's. It leads to a lot of dream fight scenarios and Ant-Man was involved in plenty, but he showcased how nice he was throughout them.
From retrieving Captain America's shield to talking politely with Black Widow while he fought her or apologizing for throwing the wrong truck, Ant-Man ends up being the nicest person to ever be involved in a fight.
Heading Into The Quantum Realm For Cassie
The most dangerous element of the world that Ant-Man is involved in is the Quantum Realm. It's discussed all throughout the origin movie, and at the end, Scott Lang himself has to head into that world, despite the fact he's aware that there's a chance he might not return.
However, with Yellow Jacket putting Cassie into serious danger, Scott Lang doesn't think twice about taking that risk. It's a moment where he thinks about his daughter first and that's what makes it such a nice act.
Entertaining Cassie On House Arrest
While Scott Lang does a lot of great things as Ant-Man, his greatest role is as a father. This is what makes the character so easy to connect with as his relationship with his daughter, Cassie is so strong. This is clear at the start of Ant-Man And The Wasp when he's under house arrest.
Rather than not seeing his daughter or just sitting in front of the television, Scott becomes a super dad. He does everything in his power to make it as exciting for her, which includes creating a slide that ends just so he stays inside the property.
