The MCU's version of Spider-Man has been a massive hit for a number of reasons but one of the biggest is just how funny the films are. The action is fantastic and the characters are likable but there are also some memorable scenes that are among the most hilarious in the entire franchise.

Nearly every character got the chance to deliver a zinger or two and a few even did so in a way that was unintentional. From Happy being the butt of the jokes to Peter Parker always having a quip ready to Ned asking questions about his best friend's powers, there are some hilarious quotes.

Peter Reports On His Daily Heroics

“I Helped This Lost Old Dominican Lady. She Was Really Nice And She Bought Me A Churro.” - Peter Parker (Homecoming)

Peter Parker eats a churro

One of the best scenes in Spider-Man: Homecoming is the simple montage of Peter Parker's daily activities as a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. It was delightful to see him have a mixup with a stolen bike, run into Stan Lee, and more.

The high point came when Peter was sitting on a fire escape leaving a voicemail for Tony Stark about what he did throughout the day. On its own, this line isn't all that funny but the pride you could hear in Peter's voice as he chomped down on the churro was comical.

Happy Isn't Great At His Job

“You’re Head Of Security And Your Password Is ‘Password’?” - Peter Parker (Far From Home)

Happy Hogan on the jet talking to Peter in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Poor Happy Hogan has been the butt of the technology jokes for years. That was certainly clear in Iron Man 3 when he struggled to video chat with Tony Stark, which is all the more hilarious given how advanced Tony is at that kind of stuff.

Peter Parker also got the opportunity to poke fun at Happy in Spider-Man: Far From Home. After Happy arrived to pick him up, Peter used his phone to try and find out where his friends were. Peter had this flabbergasted response when he found out that the head of security had such an easy password for his phone.

Poor Mr. Harrington

“Did I Tell You How My Wife Pretended To Blip Out?" - Mr. Harrington (Far From Home)

Most of the teachers in this series are there as comedic relief instead of acting as potential mentors for Peter and his friends. That's why they're played by comedy greats like J.B. Smoove, Hannibal Buress, and Martin Starr, who portrays Mr. Harrington.

After a funny scene where he rearranges where everyone is sitting on the plan in Far From Home, Mr. Harrington attempted to make small talk with Peter, including talking about how his wife lied about getting Blipped. She had just run off with someone else even though they had a funeral for her. Mr. Harrington's delivery is what makes this line work.

Peter's Youth Shines Through

"Oh I Love Led Zeppelin!" - Peter Parker (Far From Home)

Spider-Man Far From Home Peter Edith

One of the most heartwarming things about this iteration of Peter Parker is that his youth is made clear quite often. It started in Captain America: Civil War when he called The Empire Strikes Back a "really old movie" and has continued on.

The funniest moment involving this idea came in Far From Home. As Peter gets to work on his new suit, Happy noticed that he resembled a young Tony Stark. To fit the mood, Happy played Tony's beloved "Back in Black" by AC/DC, only for Peter to excitedly call the band by the wrong name.

Confusing Advice From Tony Stark

"Just Don't Do Anything I Would Do. And Definitely Don't Do Anything I Wouldn't Do." - Tony Stark (Homecoming)

Many fans have pointed out that Tony Stark basically acts as the Uncle Ben figure for Peter Parker for most of the franchise. Peter looks up to Tony as a mentor and father figure from the moment he's recruited by him and it's a key plot point in Homecoming.

This quote comes early on as Tony gives Peter advice on how to be a good hero. Of course, in typical Tony fashion, he messes with Peter and doesn't really explain what he means. The entire exchange leaves Peter confused as he has no idea what he's supposed to do.

Peter 3 Explains His Spidey Sense

“I Have The Tingle Thing, Just Not For Bread.” - Peter Parker 3 (No Way Home)

Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man comes out of the portal in Spider-Man: No Way Home

After the crowd stopped cheering at the top of their lungs for the arrival of Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker in No Way Home, they were treated to a great scene where he meets Ned and MJ. It's all centered around MJ's mistrust given what they had been through to that point.

MJ has trouble believing that this is another Peter Parker and her way of trying to prove it was to throw bread at him. Peter Parker 3 questioned this decision and when she said that she was checking for his "tingle thing" (Spidey Sense), Peter quietly responds with this line.

Ned Asks The Important Questions

“Do You Lay Eggs?” - Ned Leeds (Homecoming)

Ned finding out that Peter Parker is actually Spider-Man is one of the cooler moments of Homecoming. Ned proudly proclaims that it's the "coolest thing that ever happened to him," even though it didn't actually happen to him.

As any excited friend would do in this kind of situation, Ned reeled off a bunch of questions to Peter about what it's like to be Spider-Man. Some make sense and are actually important but others see Ned awkwardly ask his buddy if he can lay eggs, which prompts a funny facial expression from Peter.

Peter Also Asks The Important Questions

"Like Does It Just Come Out Of Your Wrists Or Does It Come Out Of Anywhere Else?" - Peter Parker (No Way Home)

Tobey Maguire smirking in Spider-Man No Way Home

The filmmakers knew exactly what they were doing with the conversations between the three Peter Parkers in No Way Home. They had them talk about the things that longtime fans have discussed online for years.

That includes the concept of Peter Parker 2's (Tobey Maguire) webs being organic. The entire conversation the three have together is great but the high point is Peter 1 flat out asking if the web only comes out of one place or from everywhere on his body.

He's Not Wrong

"Thank You, Captain. I'm Pretty Sure This Guys A War Criminal Now, But Whatever." - Coach Wilson (Homecoming)

The classic Hannibal Buress works so well as a comedic presence because of his expert line delivery, often coming in a deadpan fashion. That is what makes his appearance in Homecoming as Coach Wilson.

After the already funny footage is shown of the students watching motivational speeches from Captain America, Coach Wilson shuts off the video and hilariously says this line. It's funny because it's true since, at this point in the MCU, Cap was on the run as a fugitive.

The Always Quippy Peter Parker 3

"So, Are You Gonna Go Into Battle Dressed As A Cool Youth Pastor Or You Got Your Suit?” - Peter Parker 3 (No Way Home)

Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man No Way Home

One reason that audiences adored Andrew Garfield's take on Spider-Man so much is that he brought the quips in a way that Tobey Maguire never did. That was evident when the two actually met for the first time in No Way Home.

As they prepared to fight alongside one another, Peter Parker 3 asked Peter 2 this question, throwing in a slight dig at the goofy, unassuming attire of the older Peter. It's the perfect moment of comedy to hammer home how great these three are together.
