Along with Holland came new actors who would portray some well-known characters from the original comics. Although Holland and many of his costars portrayed teenagers in high school on-screen, it didn't reflect the ages of their real life counterparts. One actor's real age was even a shock to viewers.

Jacob Batalon (24)

Comically enough, the main actors who portrayed the teen characters were all born the same year. To make an accurate list, they are ranked by their birth month. Jacob Batalon is the youngest of the cast having been born in October of 1996.

The American actor became well-loved by fans for his portrayal of Ned, who was best known for his loyalty as well as his jolly and optimistic nature. Fans can recall the scene where Ned finally learns about Peter's other life. So riddled with shock he drops his Lego Death Star. When Batalon first filmed the movie, he was only 20 years old.

Zendaya (24)

Fans speculated as to what role Zendaya would portray in the movie. It was clear that her character had a small crush or fascination with Peter. At the very end of the movie, fans were left dumbfounded to finally realize who her character was. Zendaya portrayed one of Peter's biggest love interests in the comics, MJ.

Much like her other co-stars, she was also born in 1996. She is the second youngest, being born in September of that year. Seeing as the movie was filmed in 2017, she was also only 20 at the time. Fans loved the new take on the red-headed comic character that was a bit reserved and badass.

Tom Holland (24)

Holland was also born in 1996, meaning he is the third youngest member, having been born in June. While many fans are still divided by which Hollywood actor portrayed the Marvel hero best, fans can agree that Holland brought a new, fresher, and younger take that wasn't seen before. Revolori is the oldest among the teenager crew, being born in April of 1996. He was born late into the month making him a Taurus. Revolori would reprise his role as Flash for the following MCU movies.

Laura Harrier (30)

Fans were shocked to discover that Peter's leading lady in the movie wasn't actually as young as she's portrayed on screen. Die-hard Marvel fans would know that Peter has more than one relationship besides MJ. But in most of the previous movies, the narrative only focused on her.

Laura Harrier portrayed a loosely based version of Liz Allen from the comics. Her role would be her biggest and most profound break in Hollywood. Fans then learned that Harrier was actually 26-years-old when she played the part. The oldest amongst her younger cast members. She was born in March of 1990.

Martin Starr (38)

Starr is the youngest of the older actors in the movie and was born in 1982. When the movie premiered, he was 34-years-old. Fans would recognize the actor for his main character role in the comedy-drama, Freaks and Geeks.
