Giancarlo Esposito explains what his Professor X would be like if he plays him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's X-Men franchise. Marvel Studios was not allowed to use mutants during its first decade of content, but Disney's acquisition of Fox changed this right as Phase 4 was about to begin. Back in 2019, Kevin Feige teased that the plans for bringing the mutants to the MCU were already underway. Audiences are now seeing the beginning of this through Ms. Marvel's mutant origin twist, Ryan Reynolds developing Deadpool 3 as part of the MCU, and Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While Patrick Stewart's Professor X is part of the MCU multiverse, he is not expected to remain in the role going forward. There has been plenty of speculation over the years about who could play Charles Xavier and help lead the X-Men in this new continuity. Fancasts have helped make David Oyelowo, Bryan Cranston, Ralph Fiennes, and Ewan McGregor popular suggestions. However, Giancarlo Esposito has become arguably the most popular fancast for the role of the MCU's Professor X. The Better Call Saul and The Mandalorian star has even confirmed his interest in playing the character as a result.Related: Giancarlo Esposito's Villain Roles Prove He'd Make A Great Professor XNow, Giancarlo Esposito is opening up about what his version of Professor X would be like if Marvel casts him in the role. The actor appeared at Boston Fan Expo this weekend and briefly talked about how he'd play Charles Xavier if given the chance. As shared on Twitter by Comicbook's Liam Crowley, Giancarlo Esposito's Professor X would be played with "force, grace, and a calm."

Giancarlo Esposito would be an exciting choice for the MCU's Professor X, and it would also be one that is easily approved by Marvel's fans. It is quite common for fan art of him in the role to circulate online as more people share their support for the potential casting. There is a greater chance of it becoming a reality, too, as Giancarlo Esposito met with Marvel Studios about playing Doctor Doom, Magneto, and Professor X. While Esposito would be excellent in any of those roles, he personally wants to play Professor X.

Whether it is Esposito or a different actor, it may only be a matter of time before Marvel casts its new Professor X. The Multiverse Saga plans do not have any X-Men projects so far, but it would be quite surprising if they are not featured. Professor X is a likely candidate to appear in the coming years to help set up the larger role that mutants will play going forward. Hopefully, Giancarlo Esposito gets his wish, as it sounds like he knows exactly how he wants to play the MCU's Professor X already.
