Thanks to Marvel's new movies and shows, the MCU has a handful of new superheroes who stand good chances of being Avengers in the Multiverse Saga. With Earth's Mightiest Heroes getting not one, but two movies in Phase 6, the likelihood of several existing characters joining their ranks is high. They may not be Avengers now, but that could change in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars.

The events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame notably decimated the team roster by robbing them of three original members in Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may or may not have taken Scarlet Witch off the table as well. All things considered, Marvel will have to rebuild the group as it moves forward. Due to a number of new MCU installments, it has no shortage of attractive candidates for Avengers membership. But of course, not all of Phase 4 and Phase 5's new heroes are going to be Avengers, as there's simply too many for that to work. Here are the new heroes with the best odds of being on Phase 6's version of the team.

6 Hercules

Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder

When Thor: Love and Thunder's mid-credits scene introduced Brett Goldstein as Hercules, it was widely assumed that Marvel's intention was to set him up for a fight with Chris Hemsworth's character in Thor 5. An epic showdown may truly be what Marvel has in mind, but with the studio still having no confirmed plans for a fifth Thor movie, it may be that Hercules' next MCU appearance will actually happen in The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars.

In Marvel Comics, Hercules has a well-earned reputation as one of the Avengers' most important members. Having joined in the mid-1960s, the Lion of Olympus had two long and memorable stints with the group during the 1980s and 1990s. During those years, Hercules played key roles in some of their biggest stories, including those centered on the MCU team's next opponent, Kang the Conqueror. Given the timing of his debut and comic history, Hercules could wind following in the footsteps of his comic counterpart by fighting Kang as an Avenger in Phase 6.

5 Black Knight

Eternals' ending positioned Kit Harington's Dane Whitman to take up the Ebony Blade and become the Black Knight. Looking at the implications that come with Mahershala Ali's Blade cameo in Eternals' mid-credits scene, it's been suggested that Marvel will lean toward making its take on the Black Knight a prominent figure in the supernatural side of the MCU. However, his comic roots shouldn't be ignoring when discussing his future in Marvel's movies and shows. As a former Avengers leader and a longtime member, Dane deserves to be in any conversation about the next Avengers roster. With his swordsmanship, he'd have the potential to bring something truly unique to the table.

4 Shang-Chi

Unlike Hercules and Black Knight, Shang-Chi isn't a classic Avenger by any means. His association with the group didn't begin until the 2010s, but that fact may not ultimately matter in terms of his MCU future. When Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel showed in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings's post-credits scene, it seemed Marvel was setting up the Master of Kung Fu to be a member of the next generation of Avengers.

It's choice for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty's director reinforced that notion; Daniel Destin Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi's solo movie, will be back to helm Avengers 5. Due to Cretton's involvement, it's even easier now to imagine Shang-Chi's story continuing in The Kang Dynasty where his martial art skills could bring some much-needed balance to a group that may very well be chock-full of MCU powerhouses, especially if characters like Thor, Captain Marvel, and Hercules are around.

3 Monica Rambeau

Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision

After debuting as a child with a link to Carol Danvers' MCU backstory, Monica Rambeau was reintroduced as an adult SWORD agent in WandaVision. Played by Teyonah Parris, she received super powers ahead of her upcoming team-up with Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel in Phase 5's The Marvels. In the comic books, Monica joined the Avengers shortly after developing her abilities and quickly rose up the ranks. She wasn't on the team long before being elected to the chairman position. Capable of commanding respect from much more powerful characters and longer-tenured heroes, Monica left a lasting legacy as an Avenger, and the same could one day be true of the MCU character, depending on how her arc in The Marvels plays out.

2 She-Hulk

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law made no secret of Jennifer Walters' lack of interest in being a full-time superhero, but the direction it took her story doesn't rule out a role in one of Phase 6's Avengers movies. A major member of the group in both the classic and modern comics, She-Hulk could fight beside the Avengers (and her cousin) if circumstances ever called for it. Based on her attitude in the show, her joining the team doesn't sound like something that would be her idea, but Kang's invasion might make it necessary. The comedic approach to her character in She-Hulk could allow for some humorous interactions between her and her teammates if such an alliance was ever made.

1 Namor the Sub-Mariner

One of the biggest superheroes added to the MCU's library of characters in Phase 4 was actually Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's main villain. On the surface, Namor may not seem like an obvious choice for a spot on the next Avengers team, especially since Black Panther 2 put a lot of blood on his hands. That being said, it wouldn't be unprecedented for Tenoch Huerta's Namor to go from villain to hero. In spite of establishing himself as a recurring adversary to the team in the early 1960s, Namor was invited to join the group by Captain America 20 years later. Having lost the throne of Atlantis, Namor needed a new purpose and found one with the Avengers.

A similar development could align Namor with the team in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but may not be needed. As a time-travelling villain who could launch a multiversal war if left unchecked, Kang poses a threat to everyone, which would be a good enough reason for the Avenging Son to join forces with the heroes of the MCU in Phase 6. With his colossal strength, he'd be a significant boon to their efforts.
