Disney and Marvel have gone above and beyond the call of duty with the creation of the MCU. It's a franchise with colorful characters and sensational stories of superheroes fighting the forces of evil.

Like a comic book come to life, the series isn't without its wit and humor. To further illustrate that point, have a look at these ten brilliant one-liners from Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

The Avengers: "Puny God."

Hulk beats Loki and calls him a puny god in The Avengers

Right out of the gate, this line begins the list with a smash, namely Hulk's. The Incredible Hulk isn't what one would call the most verbose Avenger, but this little quip after absolutely thrashing Loki in Stark Tower. The god of mischief is certainly many things, and when compared to the Hulk, puny might just be one of them.

Doctor Strange: “The Wi-Fi Password, We’re Not Savages.”

This line gets a spot on the list, not because it's necessarily all that funny, but simply due to the circumstances and delivery.

When Dr. Stephen Strange finally arrives at the temple of the Ancient One, a wi-fi connection is the last thing one would expect to have in a sacred temple of ancient wizards. They don't exactly use tablets and Macs at Hogwarts, do they?

Avengers: Age of Ultron: You Get Hurt, Hurt 'Em Back. You Get Killed... Walk it Off.

Captain America looks up towards the sky from Age of Ultron

Captain America has no shortage of witty quips, but this one not only gives some much-needed levity in the fight against Ultron and his mechanized minions but provides a miniature pep talk as well. Inspiring his peers and fans definitely comes with Cap's territory, and this line lights a spark without shying away from the seriousness of their situation.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: “I Meant Trash Panda.”

Rocket Groot

Peter Quill's quips might be cockier than Cap's, but there's no denying he's got a laundry list of sarcastic remarks up his sleeve. Perhaps the most memorable insult, and there are a lot of them, in the entire Guardians line-up so far has to be Star-Lord's name for Rocket, Trash Panda.

It's simple, it's effective, and it gets Rocket riled up. What more could possibly be asked for?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier: “Hey, Fellas, Either One Of You Know Where The Smithsonian is? I’m Here to Pick Up A Fossil.”

Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Black Widow can blast the banter with the best of them, and this line is no exception. When she comes to collect Cap on his jogging routine, she offers this friendly greeting to both Steve and Sam before the main action of the movie unfolds. Fans and Avengers alike often forget Captain America's true age, but this little joke is a friendly reminder that Cap isn't as young as he looks.

Guardians of the Galaxy: “I Live For The Little Things… Like How Much This is Gonna Hurt.”

Blessed be the gun-toting ringtail that is Rocket Raccoon. This guy has an entire armory of quips, jokes, and one-liners, but if it's one line that sums up his sense of humor, it's this one uttered before he tases the living daylights out of Quill.

It might not be his trademark "Ain't nothin' like me" quote, but it's definitely his runner up for coolest line in a Marvel movie.

The Avengers: “Doth Mother Know You Weareth Her Drapes?"

Iron Man and Captain America fight Thor

Tony Stark could have his own list of one-liners, but he earns at least two on this one. The first of which just happens to be a playful, yet appropriate, jab at the wardrobe choice of everyone's favorite Son of Odin. While Thor might be the most elaborately dressed of the Avengers, he's not the only one to get a line from Iron-Man.

Avengers: Infinity War: “Dude, You’re Embarrassing Me In Front Of The Wizards.”

Even in intense situations, including the first confrontation with Ebony Maw, Mr. Stark is never a loss for words. While it's Doctor Strange and Wong that are referenced in this verbal stab, it's Banner during a fit of Hulk anxiety that receives this brilliant barb.

His material might be a tad drier than someone like Star-Lord, but Iron Man has a sharp as steel wit.

Avengers: Endgame: “That Is America’s Ass.”

Captain America's Butt The Avengers

There was no way Paul Rudd's interpretation of Scott Lang/Antman wasn't getting a spot on the list. While Antman is certainly one of the more comically oriented entries in the MCU, it's this iconic line from Avengers: Endgame that's become so iconic and memorable that it even made it into meme status. A spy mission avoiding one's past selves is no easy feat, but at least Antman knows how to keep things light.

Avengers: “That’s My Secret, I’m Always Angry.”

Speaking of great movie lines that somehow became memes, this line from Dr. Banner brings the list to a full circle. This one line was not only a hard truth but a somewhat off-beat display of attitude from the normally reserved doctor. Witty, smart, and a call to action, what better quote to top this incredible list with?
