The trend for 2022 in the MCU has been to introduce important heroes in their own tv shows, unlike in another character’s film or show first. Moon Knight was the first, then followed by Ms. Marvel, and now She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. This has been a relatively successful method as it essentially allows both experienced and new audiences to start out on the same level.

There is no shortage of content coming to MCU fans over the next few years, but there might be some more new Disney+ shows waiting to be announced. Whether as part of the Multiverse Saga or later down the line, these characters would certainly make for fascinating protagonists in their own series.

Beta Ray Bill

Beta Ray Bill wielding Mjolnir

Ever since he was teased in Thor: Ragnarok as one of the former champions of Sakaar, fans have been eagerly waiting for Beta Ray Bill’s introduction into the MCU. He is naturally best recognized for being one of the few characters truly worthy of lifting Mjølnir as Jane Foster did in Thor: Love and Thunder.

On his own, Bill is strong and formidable – enhanced by his people’s science – but with Mjølnir or his own hammer, Stormbreaker, he is a serious force to be reckoned with, and someone Thor would want as an ally when going up against Kang the Conqueror soon. His own series on Disney+ could further explore his people, the Korbinites, and their mysterious history all while being a true space-faring story.

Angela

Angela attacks in Marvel Comics.

Another Thor-related character would be deserving of their own show on Disney+ and it's actually his sister, Angela. Interestingly, she isn’t even an original creation of Marvel Comics, having been created by Neil Gaiman for Image Comics. However, her rights were sold to Marvel, and she was incorporated quickly as his long-lost sister – that story element was used for Hela in Thor: Ragnarok.

She is one of the significant Asgardians still missing in the MCU along with her other brother, Balder the Brave and Amora the Enchantress. Her series could even be merged with the solo project Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie so rightfully deserves – perhaps even as her love interest.

Ka-Zar

Ka-Zar Lord of Savage Land

An easter egg in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness directly points to the eventual inclusion of the Savage Land, a strange nature preserve in Antarctica that is home to all sorts of prehistoric creatures. It’s also home to the humans Ka-Zar, Shanna, and their sabertooth tiger companion, Zabu. Their storied history could make for an unexpectedly interesting Disney+ show.

Most likely, he’d be contending with Sauron, a villain who transforms into an anthropomorphic Pteranodon when in contact with a mutant, or other external forces wishing to get their hands on the vast resources like Vibranium available in the Savage Land. That alone could imply some involvement of the Wakandans and whoever will lead them following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Emma Frost

Emma Frost with an angry expression.

There is no shortage of prominent X-Men characters who would be deserving of their own Disney+ show, but at the top of the list should be Emma Frost. She is such an intriguing choice, especially since she was initially introduced as a villain, but she’s evolved significantly since then.

A show just for Emma Frost could showcase her complex intricacies as an anti-hero and give another perspective on mutant stories in the MCU. Her siblings could be involved along with other related characters like the Stepford Cuckoos or the Hellfire Club.

Squirrel Girl

It’s a shame that a character like Squirrel Girl is still missing from the MCU. She is an underrated hero who has been unfortunately shafted one too many times. In fact, she was already set to join the MCU, being played by Milana Vayntrub, in the series New Warriors, but that was quickly dead in the water – though Vayntrub went on to voice the character in animation still to this day.

Like Ms. Marvel, her show could tackle her double life as a student and a hero eager to work with the best. Squirrel Girl is quite special and far more powerful than she seems, having beaten Doctor Doom, Wolverine, and even Thanos – so she’d definitely be someone who could be very helpful with Kang incoming.

Captain Britain

The Braddock Twins Fighting Over Captain Britain

When the first look at What If…? was revealed many fans initially and logically believed that Peggy Carter would be taking up the mantle of Captain Britain in the MCU. There are actually two major Captain Britains in the comics and their twins – Brian and Betsy Braddock. Frankly if Captain Britain does get a Disney+ series, it would unsurprisingly to see both feature as protagonists.

Importantly, the Captain Britain Corps is actually a multiversal team with ties to the legendary wizard, Merlin, and his daughter Roma. Not only does this connect them with the central focus of current saga, but also Kit Harrington’s Black Knight and the X-Men. As such, Captain Britain’s arrival is impending regardless of them getting their own tv show, but that does feel likely.

Man-Thing

Man-Thing walks through the swamp in Marvel Comics.

With the untitled Halloween Special – purported to be following Werewolf by Night – and Blade coming down the pipeline, more and more of the supernatural side of Marvel Comics will be explored. There are some more important characters who figure into that, including Man-Thing. Ted Sallis was just a scientist who got into an accident and magically became a walking swamp monster.

He would make for a very intriguing protagonist in a Disney+ show, and it would likely need to incorporate supporting characters like Jennifer Kale, Wong, and Werewolf by Night. Man-Thing could very well be one of the missing shows in Phase Six that will be announced at the D23 Expo – especially because he is the guardian of the Nexus of All Realities, the mysterious point where everything and everywhere connects.

Alpha Flight

Alpha Flight in an X-Men Comic

While it might be difficult, in some cases a Disney+ show could be the perfect way to introduce an entire team of heroes. That would be case for Alpha Flight, the Canadian analog to the Avengers, comprised of Guardian, Sasquatch, Northstar, Aurora, Snowbird, Shaman and more. Importantly, they are also connected to Wolverine and even the Weapon X program so that could be a foundational story element.

There are several ways how a show like this could approach their introduction. It could entail each member having a brief standalone adventure, or it could immediately start with the team having been established for a while. The latter seems like the more logical option. Such an approach could work for other teams such as the Young Avengers, Agents of Atlas, and Pet Avengers too.

Brother Voodoo

Brother Voodoo looks on as snakes crawl on his arms in Marvel Comics.

Another character that could help expand the supernatural within the MCU, while also providing a unique perspective on it is Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo. He is actually already linked to the MCU through Doctor Strange wherein his brother, Daniel Drumm, was the protector of the New York Sanctum before Stephen Strange.

A Brother Voodoo series would allow for some exploration into different forms and applications of magic, including summoning the spirits of the dead. He could be introduced in his own series and then move into the movies, working alongside Doctor Strange, Wong, and Clea in Doctor Strange 3, or vice versa. Regardless, given his extensive presence throughout the comics, Brother Voodoo is another character fans should expect to see in the near future.

White Tiger

As shown by Hawkeye, the Disney+ shows are fantastic for showcasing street-level heroes. One character who could help with that is Hector Ayala aka White Tiger. Using his Amulet of Power, which is passed down in his family, he gains some incredible martial arts talents that could lead to action sequences rivaling those seen in Daredevil or Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The only thing limiting this possibility is his costume – add a hood and a cape and its Moon Knight’s. That’s something that can be easily rectified though by adding tiger stripes like in Hector’s successor and niece, Angela del Toro’s costume. Hopefully, Hector and/or the other White Tigers get a chance to show off soon in the MCU, whether in their own show or not.
