Although the heroes aren't always conventional, it takes all kinds to make up a winning team of superheroes. Some newer characters in the MCU have the perfect personality to fit into an all-new and very diverse group.

Katy Chen

Awkwafina as Katy in Shang Chi, Driving bus and preparing for battle

In the past phases, the stage has been set for friends like Shang-Chi's Katy to turn into allies and even gain admission to the team via the help of some cool tech, enhanced training, or a unique skill set. Katy has already proven that she has an attribute of an Avenger that can't be given by any spider bite, power exposure, or advanced tech as she has the desire to do good and the loyalty to her loved ones that can't be denied.

Though many may hope that Shang-Chi and Katy become a new MCU power couple,  other fans have theorized that the relationship was kept platonic partly because Katy could become the newest non-enhanced hero following in the footsteps of a Maria Hill or Phil Coulson.

Moon Knight

Although not slated for release on Disney+ until 2022, Moon Knight is sure to be one of the most compelling characters to grace the multiverse. Marc Spector is a character who faces off against external enemies and internal ones with his struggles. Suffering from a dissociative personality disorder may have been what led this wealthy vigilante to create his costumed alter ego.

Though dark, Moon Knight fights for the side of good, as he sees it, and would make for an excellent foil for a new team of Avengers, keeping them grounded in reality.

White Vision

White Vision in WandaVision

It can be argued that Vision is not a new character as the White Vision who prevailed at the end of WandaVision is a new character. Although he flew away to discover further who he is now that he has integrated some of original Vision's memories into his new body, White Vision may return, ready to take his spot in the multiverse as well as alongside this generation of Avengers.

Suppose White Vision takes this time to finish weaving together the history of his original iteration and becoming more like what Tony and Bruce originally envisioned for Ultron. In that case, he will take his place alongside those attempting to maintain order around the universe.

Mighty Thor

Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor

While Jane Foster is not new to the MCU universe, having appeared in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World, she is about to return to the MCU in such a way that she is going to be a completely new iteration of the character. The Mighty Thor storyline in the comics, with a dying Jane Foster taking on the mantle of Thor, was more popular than its creators thought it would be, with Foster moving fans.

Though it is not known how close to that storyline the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder are, Natalie Portman will be wielding Mjolnir has been confirmed. Portman's Jane Foster is a character that is both brilliant and noble, fighting for good against great odds even when she is powerless. There is no doubt that if she has any longevity in the MCU, Jane Foster will be a staple hero and new big brain for any upcoming Avengers team, likely bringing drastic changes to the MCU.

She-Hulk

Tatiana Maslany As She Hulk

Little is known about the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ as with most MCU projects. With what is known about Jennifer Walters from the source comic books, it's safe to assume that the lawyer by day, She-Hulk by night character will remain loyal to the Vision of her as a great asset to those fighting for the side of good.

Not only is it likely that with her relationship to Bruce Banner, her mind, and her gamma powers that She-Hulk will be part of any new Avengers team, she will surely be a founding and long-term member in it all the way.

Yelena Belova

Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova at Natasha's grave

Florence Pugh brilliantly portrayed Nat's estranged little spy sister in this year's Black Widow, instantly skyrocketing her to the top of many fans' new favorite character. Her continued presence in the world (soon to be multiverse) of the MCU is guaranteed, next appearing in the now playing Hawkeye series on Disney+.

Being sure to take up the mantle of the Widow in some way, there are endless places that Yelena could appear, and she is sure to bring her unique anti-hero attitude to any new team that is created, along with her snarky comebacks and unique fashion sense.

Monica Rambeau

With her prevalent role in WandaVision, there is a lot of anticipation for Teyonah Parris' Monica and her powers to return in 2023's The MarvelsThough some of her powers were revealed in the finale of WandaVision, it is not clear exactly how powerful her continued exposure to Wanda's Mind Stone powers made her.

Whether she takes on the mantle of Photon, Spectrum, or some yet-to-be-created MCU-specific character, there is no doubt that she will do great things. Monica has a personality reminiscent of Steve Rogers - she is one hundred percent pure and good. She will do whatever she has to do for the greater good and will almost definitely be a member, if not a leader, of the upcoming new Avengers.

 Ms. Marvel

Iman Vellani as Kamal Kahn/Ms. Marvel in a Captain Marvel Jacket

Disney+ day confirmed that Ms. Marvel will be premiering in the 2022 fourth quarter for the studio in the summer months of 2022. Though granted her powers through exposure to Terrigen, the scary transformation allows Kamala Khan to fulfill her greatest wish: to become a hero, protecting those who need it. She is sure to follow her comic book roots and will help to form and run a new team of heroes.

Kate Bishop

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop

As portrayed by Hailee Steinfeld, Kate Bishop hits the mark in the first three episodes of Hawkeye that are currently available. Her upbeat personality and sassy attitude towards Clint Barton's gruffer low-key approach to heroics is not only an excellent foil for the show but makes her character even more unique and appealing than most and makes Kate a better Hawkeye.

She does not so much subscribe to the idea that she shouldn't go looking for trouble, not being one to back down from a challenge or sit back and see how it turns out. Bishop will attack life, which could be a great motivator for any team scared to follow in the footsteps of the iconic group that lasted over 23 movies and 11 years.

Shang-Chi

Simu Liu as Shang-Chi

The Shang-Chi movie had its share of neigh-sayers before it came out, but the brilliance of the script, cast, and crew virtually silenced them. Simu Liu embodied Shaun (Shang-Chi) as Robert Downey Jr. did Iron Man. For sure, that feeling of excitement and that something new was indeed coming struck MCU fans, as hard as that magical release in 2008 of Iron Man

Just as that film captured the heart of Marvel Comic fans despite doubt over a decade ago, so Shang-Chi recaptured those who thought the magic was over as many of its founding members left the universe. Instead, the movie not only introduced a new dynamic hero that will surely be a leader in founding and running the next Avengers but also reinvigorated a fan base beat down by long delays and an international pandemic. With Shang-Chi at the helm, the next phase is sure to be as funny as it is action-packed.
