Steve and Natasha continue to bond throughout Captain America: The Winter Soldier as they flee from Hydra together. Black Widow helps Captain America with his espionage skills before they team up with Falcon to take on a brainwashed Bucky Barnes.

Running from Hydra brings Steve and Nat together. Natasha opens up about herself more and Steve begins to trust her, strengthening the foundations of their friendship.

Steve Honors Natasha's Last Wish

Black Widow tragically dies in Avengers: Endgame after sacrificing herself on Vormir for the Soul Stone. Steve is heartbroken by the death of his best friend but honors Natasha's last wishes by insisting that they continue with the plan to revive all of Thanos' victims.

Surprisingly, Steve and Natasha fight on opposite sides during Captain America: Civil War. Natasha sides with Tony in favor of the Sokovia Accords. The two factions come to blows in Germany when Steve attempts to escape with Bucky and his team.

Unsurprisingly, Natasha switches her allegiance to Steve at the last minute. Black Widow holds Black Panther at bay, allowing her best friend to leave for Siberia with Bucky.

Fighting In Wakanda Together

Captain America and Black Widow take a heroic stand against Thanos' forces in Wakanda during Avengers: Infinity War. The former Avengers emerge from hiding to battle the Mad Titan, leading the forces of earth against Proxima Midnight and the rest of the Black Order.

Steve and Natasha stand together with T'Challa, Bruce, and the forces of Wakanda against their most powerful challenge yet. Their influence is instrumental but, unfortunately, not enough to prevent Thanos' Snap.

Natasha Comforts Steve At Peggy's Funeral

In one of their most emotional scenes, Natasha travels to England to comfort Steve at Peggy's funeral during Captain America: Civil War. Nat comments that Steve shouldn't be on his own. Despite their differences over the Accords, she reunites with Steve when he needs her the most.

Natasha arguably understands Steve more than the other Avengers, except for Sam and Bucky. Knowing how much he loved Peggy, Nat ensures that she is there to support and comfort Cap through his grief.

Taking On The Winter Soldier

Steve and Natasha team up with Falcon to take on the Winter Soldier in the second Captain America movie. During the battle, Black Widow is shot by a brainwashed Bucky. Natasha is almost killed before Steve arrives to save one friend and fight another.

Although Steve didn't know it was Bucky initially, he still fought his long-term best friend and saved Natasha's life. His continuous battles with Black Widow remain highlights in their iconic friendship.

Steve Comforts Natasha After The Snap

Natasha struggles to cope in the aftermath of the Snap throughout Endgame. Although Nat maintains the Avengers' missions, the trauma of failing to save the world overwhelms her. Luckily, Steve is there to comfort Natasha when she needs him, as she was during Peggy's funeral.

It could be said that Steve also understands Natasha more than the other members of the Avengers. He recognizes when she needs support and does his best to provide the comfort his friend needs.

Saving Scarlet Witch & Vision

Steve and Natasha spent years in hiding together following the events of Captain America: Civil War. Infinity War proves that they stuck together throughout their estrangement from the Avengers, helping people in need and further demonstrating why they are friendship goals.
