12 movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remain in the pipeline for Marvel Studios after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp's new movie, a new era begins for the MCU. Phase 4 concluded with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and now Quantumania serves as the first chapter in Phase 5.

Given what's known about Marvel's wider plans for the MCU, it makes sense that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been chosen as the movie that kicks Phase 5 into full swing. Peyton Reed's third Ant-Man movie sees Scott Lang and the others trapped in the Quantum Realm where they're forced to contend with Kang the Conqueror, a 31st time-traveler and a major member of the Avengers' rogues gallery. Played by Jonathan Majors, the classic Avengers villain is already being positioned as the overarching antagonist of the Multiverse Saga. Here's what's next for the Multiverse Saga after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

12 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Star Lord, Gamora and Blurp in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Star-Lord and the others will catch up with Avengers: Endgame's Gamora variant in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will act as the third and final installment in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. The Guardians are sure to have their hands full as they go up against Chudwudi Iwuji's High Evolutionary, a major Marvel Comics villain whose reputation for "evolving" animals and humans will be tied to Rocket Raccoon's MCU origin story. On top of having to fight the High Evolutionary, the group will also have to get past Will Poulter's Adam Warlock, a character whose debut was foreshadowed by one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's post-credits scenes. The upcoming Phase 5 is scheduled for a May 5, 2023 release.

Reprising his role from The Incredible Hulk, Samuel Sterns is expected to finally complete his transformation into his comic book counterpart. Also coming back is General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, but this time around, he'll be brought to life by Harrison Ford. A third Hulk character, a mutant known as Sabra, will be making her MCU debut in the film. The movie will release on May 3, 2024.

8 Blade

Years after making a voice cameo in Eternals' post-credits scene, Mahershala Ali will appear in the flesh as the iconic Marvel Comics vampire hunter in Blade, a movie poised to explore the supernatural corner of the MCU. Directed by Yann Demange, the film doesn't have a confirmed antagonist for Ali's character yet, or a known plot. However, it has been reported that the Black Knight's Ebony Blade will be on hand. But for the time being, there's no word on whether or not Kit Harington's Dane Whitman will be involved in the story as the MCU's Black Knight. Releasing on September 6, 2024, Blade will end Phase 5.

7 Deadpool 3

The MCU's first-ever R-rated movie, Deadpool 3 will bring Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth into the MCU. Shawn Levy is attached to direct the movie, which is confirmed to pair Deadpool with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who will also be making his first foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the movie. Exactly how the film will pull them into the MCU is unclear, but the concept of the multiverse is widely believed to be in play. Set for November 6 release, Deadpool 3 is the final MCU movie of 2024 and the first installment in Marvel's Phase 6 slate.

6 Fantastic Four

So far, there have been three live-action Fantastic Four movies, but none were under the tentpole of Marvel Studios. That will change on February 15, 2025 when the MCU's first Fantastic Four adaptation arrives in theaters. No cast has been set as of yet, but the possibility remains that the movie will reuse John Krasinski, who played an alternate reality version of Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, its importance to the MCU's future is comparable to The Avengers. Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will direct.

5 Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

A new iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes will headline Destin Daniel Cretton's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. For now, the specific lineup Marvel has in mind for the fifth Avengers movie is unknown, but what's certainly not a secret is the identity of the villain. As the title confirms, the upcoming Phase 6 project will herald the return of Kang the Conqueror. His battle with the Avengers will be the culmination of events from a number of preceding MCU installments, including Loki, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and more. The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to release on May 2, 2025.

4 Avengers: Secret Wars

Avengers Secret Wars

Similar to how Marvel released Infinity War and Endgame in back-to-back years, the studio will follow a similar strategy with its fifth and sixth Avengers movies. Presumably, whatever transpires in The Kang Dynasty will lead directly into Avengers: Secret Wars. The comic story with which Secret Wars shares its name saw a cosmic entity known as the Beyonder bring a diverse gathering of Marvel Comics superheroes to a pocket dimension called Battleworld for a fight with a selection of their biggest villains. The MCU's version of the event, which may or may not involve Kang the Conqueror, will be written by Michael Waldron and is to be released on May 1, 2026. Currently, no director is attached to the movie.

3 Armor Wars (TBA)

Originally planned as a six-episode Disney+ series, Armor Wars is based on a comic book storyline from the pages of Iron Man which involved Tony Stark resolve to do whatever it took to track down his stolen armor designs. For the MCU's take on the story, Marvel will replace the Armored Avenger with Don Cheadle's War Machine, who will be looking to preserve the legacy of the fallen Avenger by keeping Tony's tech out of the wrong hands. Armor Wars, which lacks a director, doesn't a confirmed place in the Multiverse Saga, much less a release date.

2 Shang-Chi 2 (TBA)

Simu Liu as Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Sometime after directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Cretton will be back to helm and write the sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Confirmed to be in development at Marvel Studios, Shang-Chi 2 is among three MCU movies without release dates. Unsurprisingly, Simu Liu is expected to be on board as the Master of Kung Fu. As for what the story will entail, the first movie set up storylines involving a mystery threat from the multiverse and his sister's takeover of the Ten Rings organization.

1 Spider-Man 4 (TBA)

Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man No Way Home

Tom Holland's time as the MCU's Peter Parker didn't end with Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie is still in the early planning stages, so there are no details on the cast, the director, the release date, or the plot. That being said, Feige has said that the story is being written. Since No Way Home wrapped up with all of Peter's friends forgetting his secret identity, the new movie has an opportunity introduce the wallcrawler to a brand-new supporting cast of characters from Spider-Man comics.
