Even in Loki, when he realized he was going down a dark path after manipulating Mobius, he did his best to turn things around.
Every time that Loki was brought into a scheme, it was on his terms. As the antagonist for most of his time in the MCU, Loki gained a reputation for speaking his mind and having questionable morals. Due to his traumatic upbringing, Loki had trouble relating to his family, so he developed ways of guarding himself against other people.
