New heroes like Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop will be forced to step up as the world's next generation of defenders against the likes of Kang the Conqueror and potentially Doctor Doom in the next years of the franchise.
Kate Bishop will inevitably participate in several team-ups in the near future, especially as theories continue to suggest that she will join a new lineup of the Young Avengers. With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania heavily theorized to include a cameo from the new Hawkeye, fans are already getting excited about which characters she will join forces with.
Ms. Marvel
Iman Vellani finally joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this summer with the Disney+ original series Ms. Marvel. Playing Kamala Khan, Vellani quickly makes a name for herself as one of the greatest casting choices in MCU history, leaving fans excited for her very bright future in the franchise, which will continue next year with The Marvels.
Both Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop have been a major part of Marvel's new legacy characters following in the footsteps of their heroic idols. Whereas Kate has modeled her superhero career on Hawkeye, Kamala Khan has done the very same with Captain Marvel. A team-up between the two as members of a new Avengers lineup would certainly lead to a lasting friendship between the two fledgling superheroes.
Stature
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will introduce a brand-new version of Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang. While the filmmakers and actors have been notoriously tight-lipped about the character's future in the franchise, it has been heavily implied that Cassie will finally suit up as her superhero counterpart, Stature, in the upcoming film.
Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop are both frequent members of the Young Avengers in the comics, leading to a lasting friendship between the two that would be a folly for Marvel Studios to ignore as it inches closer to adapting the superhero team. Many rumors suggest that Hailee Steinfeld could even appear in the post-credit scene of Quantumania to recruit Cassie for such a team-up in the near future.
X-23
While many fans are getting excited about Wolverine's debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some have argued for the franchise to instead adopt the Laura Kinney version of the character, sometimes referred to as X-23. Additionally, with recent rumors that Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025, it seems incredibly likely that Shang-Chi will be an integral part of the Multiverse Saga.
Shang-Chi has risen to prominence in the MCU's fanbase in part to his lovable personality and sheer enthusiasm, both traits that Kate Bishop happens to share. As two of the newest members of the Avengers, Kate and Shang-Chi would have plenty to bond them, perhaps forming one of several new relationships that will drive the future of the franchise.
America Chavez
Xochitl Gomez made her MCU debut earlier this year in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as the multiverse-traversing superhero America Chavez. While the character has not yet been announced for any future MCU projects, she will inevitably make her next appearance before the finale of the Multiverse Saga in 2025.
After her introduction, America Chavez is primed to join one of the many superhero teams being set up for the MCU's Phase 4 and beyond. The team that best serves her character would be the Young Avengers, which Kate Bishop will undoubtedly be a part of. Fans should get excited now to see just how Kate will react to seeing America's multiverse powers in action.
Ironheart
The first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirmed longstanding rumors that the film would introduce Riri Williams, the future Ironheart. Dominique Thorne will indeed appear in the film, setting up her forthcoming solo series Ironheart, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023 as a part of the MCU's Phase 5.
While fans have yet to meet Riri Williams, she is expected to become an integral part of the MCU, suggesting that she will become closely associated with many heroes therein, including Kate Bishop. Seeing two actresses as talented as Dominique Thorne and Hailee Steinfeld interact onscreen would be thrilling for all audiences, who hope they won't have to wait too long before such an occurrence.
Thor
Thor Odinson has had many adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but doesn't seem to be approaching the end of his story just yet. With the credits of Thor: Love and Thunder confirming that the Norse god of thunder will indeed return, fans have been left to wonder when they will see Thor once again.
Thor as a character encapsulates the "strange magic" that makes Marvel crossovers events such a joy. His zany personality and unbelievable backstory make him a perfect pairing with almost any other superhero in the franchise. As such, his inevitable team-up with Kate Bishop is sure to be just as exciting and hilarious as Thor's many other superhero pairings.
Yelena Belova
Yelena Belova was introduced as the foster sister of Natasha Romanoff in the 2021 film Black Widow. Since then, she has made one subsequent appearance in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, which seemed to set her up for a much bigger role in future films and series.
Although Yelena and Kate seemed to forge the beginning of an entertaining friendship during their first few meetings, they have yet to actually fight on the same side. Fans of their budding friendship will are no doubt yearning for an imminent match-up between the two, though they may have to wait longer than they would like. Kate Bishop, as it seems, is headed for a future in the Young Avengers whereas Yelena seems destined for the MCU's Thunderbolts, meaning that fans may have to wait a bit longer to see the two cross paths once more.
Spider-Man
Tom Holland's Spider-Man has a long and bright future ahead of him in the MCU. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the fledgling superhero is only at the beginning of his tenure in the franchise, with Sony and Marvel Studios actively developing another trilogy starring the beloved wall-crawling Avenger.
While many fans were disappointed that Spider-Man did not appear in Hawkeye's finale as some had expected, the possibility of a future pairing between the arachnid superhero and Kate Bishop is not yet off the table. Both are frequently found in New York City, meaning that they could cross paths at any moment. The idea of seeing such scene-stealing superheroes teaming up to stop petty crimes on the streets of New York City should be enough to get any Marvel fan excited for their inevitable team-up.
