One of the many thrills of the MCU is getting to see these iconic comic book characters interact in a live-action adventure. These movies have always been great at finding interesting pairings of heroes, from Iron Man and Spider-Man to Thor and Rocket. Yet as the universe continues to grow and add more characters, some key heroes have yet to meet on screen.

Given the fact that nearly every Marvel hero came together in Avengers: Endgame, it is possible certain heroes have met, but fans have not yet seen them interact. And as certain characters have made their exits from the MCU, some pairings are no longer possible.

Yet To Meet: Nick Fury And Rhodey

Both Nick Fury and James "Rhodey" Rhodes were introduced in the very first MCU movie and have remained key characters in the universe since then. However, they are also heroes who tend to be supporting characters and never found themselves sharing a scene together.

Though Rhodey joined Fury in providing backup for the Avengers in Sokovia, they never interacted. Now, these supporting players are each stepping into the spotlight, headlining their own Disney+ shows with Fury in Secret Invasion and Rhodey in Armor Wars, so perhaps there could be a crossover in the future.

Never Will: Iron Man And The Wasp

Though Hope van Dyne only took up the mantel of the Wasp in Phase 3 of the MCU, she has already established herself as one of the more dedicated heroes. But while she will surely have time to meet the other Avengers in the future, she missed her chance to partner with the MCU's first hero.

Avengers: Endgame provided a fitting end for Iron Man with his sacrificial death. It would have been exciting to see these two heroes meet, not only to compare their impressive suits but also because of Hope's father, Hank Pym, apparently hating Tony Stark.

Yet To Meet: Hulk And Bucky

Despite being heroes who have been around since Phase 1, time and space have managed to keep Hulk and Bucky from meeting. Bucky was kept frozen for decades as the Winter Soldier, thawed out only to undertake missions.

On the other hand, Hulk left Earth for an extended period of time, making their chances of meeting even slimmer. They shared a scene at the end of Endgame when Steve went back in time, but they have not yet spoken to each other.

Never Will: Black Panther And Thor

Though Wakanda is filled with amazing innovations, even Black Panther is impressed when Thor makes his epic entrance in Avengers: Infinity War. Sadly, that is the closest these two warriors have gotten to meet in the MCU.

As both are heirs to the thrones of their respective homes as well as protectors of their people, it would have been fascinating to see the common ground Thor and Black Panther find despite being worlds apart. But with confirmation that T'Challa will not be recast in the MCU, that opportunity is tragically gone.

Yet To Meet: Scarlet Witch And Captain Marvel

As powerful as Thanos was, two heroes proved to be powerful enough to take on the Mad Titan. Scarlet Witch nearly killed Thanos when they faced off on the battlefield while Captain Marvel proved she was able to easily overpower him. This started a debate about which of these two is the strongest Avenger.

Given that debate, a meet-up between these two seems inevitable. They briefly fought side-by-side in Endgame along with all the other female heroes, but it would be fantastic to see them really join forces, or perhaps be forced to battle each other.

Never Will: Black Widow And Gamora

Black Widow and Gamora are another pair of heroes who are from very different worlds yet have so much in common. Both were taken from their real families and trained to be killers from a very young age before seeking redemption. Gamora and Black Widow share complicated sibling relationships as well and even died similarly on Vormir.

Given all those similarities, it feels like a real shame they didn't get together before Black Widow's death, but their journeys ended up taking paths that were never meant to cross.

Yet To Meet: Ant-Man And Star-Lord

There are some heroes who just seem like they would click comedically, like Iron Man and Rocket. But perhaps the two funniest Avengers haven't had the chance to joke around together.

Ant-Man and Star-Lord both have a goofy quality to them as superheroes. They are immature and perhaps not always the smartest people in the room, but they are endearing. While pairing them up to save the world might not be a good idea, putting them in a room together would make for some hilarious moments.

Never Will: Vision And Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel's time off Earth has made it difficult to meet the other Avengers. While she was able to briefly form relationships with the likes of Iron Man and Captain America in Endgame, one key Avenger was already dead by that point.

Though audiences have seen other versions of Vision, the one established as a hero in the MCU died at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War. Both Vision and Captain Marvel gained their powers from an Infinity Stone but they won't have the chance to discuss that together.

Yet To Meet: Thor And Spider-Man

It is very charming that the MCU's Spider-Man is a typical teen who is, of course, a big fan of the Avengers. Audiences have seen him get starstruck by some of the other heroes in the universe, but he hasn't geeked out over meeting Thor just yet.

This is another pair of very funny heroes who would seemingly hit it off so well. Thor certainly has a big ego and Spider-Man would likely only add to it with his excitement over the Asgardian god. Hopefully, the meeting will happen soon as it is unclear how long Spider-Man will continue in the MCU.

Never Will: Captain America And Doctor Strange

Split image of Captain America in Avengers: Endgame and Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War

Captain America was the leader of the Avengers for a long time, but in his absence, Doctor Strange feels like a likely candidate to take over that leadership role. Sadly, Strange didn't get the chance to get any advice from Cap.

As Captain America was gathering the forces of Earth to fight Thanos's army, Strange was in space with Iron Man, taking on the Mad Titan himself. And while it was Strange who brought all the heroes into battle with his portals, he and Cap didn't get a chance to meet before Cap handed over his shield and retired.
