The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already flush with an incredible amount of characters and, with She-Hulk set to be released on Aug. 17, it looks like Marvel is ready to introduce more and more with every new show or film. Of course, with so many different heroes, there have been a lot of crossovers. Not all of them have ended well.

While most superhero meetings tend to involve fights, some happen to be incredibly funny, as is the MCU's style. Fans on Ranker have voted to determine which were the funniest MCU character meetings, and some of them have really proven to be genuinely hilarious.

Note: Ranker lists are fan-voted, live, and continue to accrue votes, so some rankings may have changed after this publishing.

Ant-Man Meets Falcon

Ant-Man meets Falcon.

There's nothing wrong with misunderstandings, but some conflicts don't just result from that. When Ant-Man met the Falcon while attempting to steal Avengers tech, there was no way the meeting could go but poorly. So, when Ant-Man introduced himself as Scott, the Falcon wasn't amused.

While their introduction did quickly devolve into a fight, the initial greeting was hilarious. After all, it isn't every day that a burglar starts off a conversation with "First off, I'm a big fan".

Hulk Meets Iron Man

Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in The Avengers

While most of his comic book storylines see Hulk fighting his fellow heroes and being shunned or exiled, the introduction between Iron Man and Bruce Banner was considerably more friendly in The Avengers.

Bruce enters the conversation expecting to talk about their scientific achievements, even going so far as to start talking about Tony's work. Tony, meanwhile, is far more interested in the heroic side of things. Immediately, the scientist launches into discussing the fact that Bruce turns into an irradiated green rage monster to Bruce's disappointment. It's a pretty funny contrast and really showcases the interests of each character.

Spider-Man Meets The Winter Soldier

A man with a metal arm isn't exactly expecting his fist to be stopped by a teenager in a spider costume. So, when making his move against Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, the Winter Soldier was absolutely stunned when Spider-Man caught his fist and immediately rambled about how cool it was.

It's one of the funniest quotes in the Captain America movies, especially given the Winter Soldier's absolutely stunned reaction. Having never had to deal with someone with Spider-Man's temperament before, even if the Winter Soldier had been ready to hear a teenager's voice, he certainly wasn't ready for a quip.

Hulk Meets Black Panther

When being introduced to a new culture, it can be easy to make a few early mistakes. So, when Bruce Banner asked War Machine if he was supposed to bow when being introduced to the King of Wakanda, the answer was an emphatic yes. Unfortunately for Bruce, Rhodey wasn't exactly being honest.

As Bruce bowed, Rhodey immediately asked what he was doing, and Black Panther quickly told him he didn't need to bow. It was a funny exchange, especially given that Bruce is an incredibly intelligent scientist falling for the simplest and easiest of pranks.

Thor Meets Iron Man

Iron Man Thor Infinity War

After taking Loki out of Avengers custody early in The Avengers, Thor tried to face off against his brother alone. Of course, that didn't exactly go as expected, since Iron Man burst onto the scene like a living rocket, carried Thor off, and immediately told him not to take his things.

Not quite intimidated by being in the presence of a god, Iron Man was absolutely happy to insult Thor relentlessly. Mocking both his clothes, his style of speaking, and his presumptuous nature, Tony tore Thor to shreds. While it did result in a fight, the staunch difference between the quip-loving Tony and the stern Thor made the scene utterly hilarious.

The Guardians Meet Thor

There's nothing funnier than a grown Asgardian god hitting the front of the Guardians' ship, while Rocket frantically screams at them to use window wipers to get it off. It's the standard reaction of the Guardians, given that they don't exactly take situations seriously, but the meeting only gets funnier from there.

After critiquing Star-Lord by comparing him to Thor's muscular build, the team manages to give Quill a complex that immediately creates a rivalry between the two. It was the start of Thor's best team-up in the MCU, which made it an absolutely memorable moment.

Star-Lord Meets Spider-Man and Iron Man

Spider-Man and Star-Lord in Infinity War

After ambushing Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man, the Guardians took Spider-Man captive and demanded that the Avengers give them their friend, Gamora back. Of course, after asking where she was, Star-Lord had to deal with Iron Man asking who Gamora was, then Drax asking "Why Gamora?"

Given the major implications of the scene, and that it was the first time the Guardians had come into conflict with the Avengers, it was especially great to have a moment of levity. It also helped to show Tony that the Guardians weren't quite as competent as they seemed, which certainly helped build relations.

Doctor Strange Meets Loki And Thor

Loki Doctor Strange

Always the trickster, Loki wasn't entirely prepared to face off against a being with magic that happened to be a little stronger than illusions. As one of the most powerful magical beings in Marvel Comics, Doctor Strange managed to trap Loki in a portal, leaving him in a falling cycle for half an hour.

It was a nice change of pace to see Loki on the bad end of a magical stick for once, and it helped add to the relaxed tone of Thor: Ragnarok. Despite being funny, it also managed to show just how far Loki and Thor have fallen down the power level scale, and just how strong Doctor Strange really is.

Captain America Meets Groot

Captain America and Teen Groot in Avengers Infinity War

There's nothing better than Steve Rogers proving his good nature and willingness to accept other people, no matter what. No moment proved that more than when Groot saved the Captain on the Battlefield by skewering several of Thanos' men with an outstretched arm.

Despite the fact that Groot was one of the first friendly aliens Steve had ever met — while also being a giant talking tree — Steve took it in stride. Assuming that Groot was introducing himself, Steve returned the favor. It's a sweet moment that served as a character-building instance for Steve, while also adding humor to one of the darkest films in the franchise.

Spider-Man Meets Doctor Strange

Spider-Man Doctor Srange

Doctor Strange is one of a few characters in the MCU who doesn't have a heroic alias. Instead, his name is just his well-earned title and his surname, even if it sounds like nothing more than another clever name like Iron Man, Spider-Man, or the Black Panther.

So, when Peter tried to introduce himself with his real name, and Doctor Strange returned the favor, Peter thought it was an alias and immediately corrected himself to Spider-Man. It's a funny instance and a pretty realistic reaction for a teenager who's never even heard of Strange. It also helped show Strange's no-nonsense attitude as he immediately dismissed Peter entirely.
