WandaVision is getting closer, week by week, to fully revealing the Marvel Cinematic Universe iteration of SWORD. In the comics, it's a division of SHIELD which has been tasked with protecting Earth from intergalactic threats. It seems the MCU's version of the organization may be based around anything that could be considered to be 'abnormal' or 'Inhuman.'

The series has already shown some members of the MCU have joined the group. Jimmy Woo, Monica Rambeau, and Darcy Lewis have all been featured in marketing material linked to SWORD. While there is plenty of SHIELD and SWORD agents from the comics that are yet to be used, there are also many heroes from across the MCU who might fit in perfectly!

Jesse Fletcher

WandaVision Episode 1 - Norm and Vision

Jesse Fletcher might not be a character many people are familiar with. Appearing in season 1 of Agents Of Shield, the character was a bit of a tech genius. He was likely picked up by SHIELD, becoming one of their agents across the years, after his run-in with them.

What's interesting to note is the same actor plays Norm in WandaVision. It may of course be a coincidence, but with a few other SHIELD actors popping up in the Marvel show, it may be that old recruits have joined up to this new division.

Daisy Johnson

Quake Agents of shield

Fans have been clamoring to see Daisy Johnson return in some form to the MCU. Going by the codename Quake, this former Secret Warrior has become a significant member of SHIELD and is well versed in dealing with supernatural and extraterrestrial threats.

It would be a lot of fun to see Daisy come back into the picture and she'd even work well alongside the established members of SWORD already. Her abilities mean that she's also a useful bit of firepower to add to the group, alongside her tactical mind.

Phil Coulson

Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson

Phil Coulson is another character that has seemingly been written out of the MCU for now - but that certainly won't stop him from coming back. Coulson's superpower appears to be that he can never die. He's always coming back in a different form.

The mechanical version of the former SHIELD agent might be useful for the team. He can get involved in situations too dangerous for humans and has a great wealth of knowledge in terms of aliens, alternate realities, and even Hydra's blue soap. The character has evolved so much since he was last in the MCU proper.

The Inhumans

Inhumans

The Inhumans have been all but forgotten about in the MCU. Partially thanks to the flop that their TV show had become, there's still hope for this group of Kree experiments in the future of the franchise. There are some genuinely interesting characters amongst the group after all.

The idea that perhaps a few could return as advisors is certainly compelling. Medusa for instance was a wise and strong leader. She'd have a lot to offer in regards to other super-powered individuals and Inhumans across the Earth.

Everett Ross

Everett K. Ross

Everett Ross is a loyal government official. He has seen how the government has handled a number of significant threats to the Earth though and may wish to get more hands-on. He's also experienced a few different sides of the Marvel Universe.

Ross may just be the man in charge of SWORD. It needs a leader to truly spearhead it and Ross could be the right man for the job. Out of every option throughout the MCU, Ross is perhaps the most likely to be added to SWORD. He would certainly have great comedic chemistry as the straight man to Darcy and Jimmy.

Jane Foster

Jane Foster

Taika Waititi is in the process of rejuvenating the Jane Foster character. She could still make a smaller cameo in the MCU before taking on the role of the Mighty Thor. She is the best friend to Darcy and an extremely accomplished scientist.

Foster might be able to offer some guidance in regards to what's happening with Wanda. In an advisory role with SWORD, Jane Foster could make a cameo to set up her much bigger return and demonstrate the brains she still brings to the table.

Talos

Talos Skrulls

The Skrulls aren't exactly portrayed as they were in the comics. Opting for a more sympathetic approach, the movies have taken away their villainous streak and perhaps even affected the outcome of the Secret Invasion long term.

However, with Talos still on Earth, helping out Nick Fury while he's in space, SWORD may just be his newest assignment. The majority of the time he could be impersonating someone else as well in order to keep his cover. There are plenty of links to Captain Marvel thanks to the presence of Monica Rambeau, who would already be familiar with the Skrull.

Samuel Sterns

Samuel Sterns aka The Leader in The Incredible Hulk

She-Hulk looks to be bringing back many forgotten characters from the MCU's past. One of the big details that fans know about the show is that the Abomination has already been confirmed. Perhaps his creator will also return to the screen.

Samuel Sterns was already one of the most intelligent people in the world. His transformation into the Leader may have made him even smarter. Despite probably being locked up for crimes against humanity, he may be brought into SWORD in the capacity of sharing his depth of knowledge.

Lady Sif

Lady Sif fighting besides Thor

Lady Sif hasn't been seen in quite some time. Asgard is destroyed which means she might have to find a new role to play. She's probably not too familiar with the ruler of the New Asgard, so might not be making her first stop at her new home.

Instead, Sif has always been passionate about helping out humanity. As a former ally to SHIELD, it's reasonable to suggest she'd treat SWORD with a similar respect. The team needs more heroes to fortify its defenses and Sif might be the woman for the job; both a warrior and a keeper of galactic knowledge.

Carol Danvers

Carol Danvers

Nick Fury probably should have contacted Captain Marvel countless times over the years. SWORD may be the opportunity he was looking for to bring her back into the mix on Earth.

An organization that also sees her long time friend Monica Rambeau involved, it would be pretty easy to imagine the former military pilot Carol Danvers linking herself to another government project which seeks to protect Earth against the threats she usually faces alone.
