The MCU heroines are usually busy stopping the latest threat, be it dangerous humans or extraterrestrial armies. Despite the fact that their lives are far from peaceful, they still find the time to build romantic relationships. Some have it easier since they lead more normal lives, while others struggle with combining the two important aspects of their existence.

Whether they're superheroes or not, every heroine of the MCU is different when it comes to romantic relationships. Some are emotionally distant while others open up to their partners easily. But just like no-one can excel at everything, there are MCU women who would make good girlfriends and some who wouldn't.

Best: Nakia

Nakia on the battlefield in Black Panther

Underestimating Nakia would be a dangerous mistake... and the last one many people would do. Nakia is pleasantly down-to-Earth, she sees the world for what it is. Her calm reason and brave nature would balance out those who rush into doing without thinking. Nakia is also honest with people around her, and she doesn't come across as the type who would keep secrets in a relationship - quite the opposite, she looks like a problem solver, and she would never give up on those she likes.

Worst: Wanda Maximoff

Scarlet Witch betrays Ultron using her powers in Age of Ultron

Nothing is black-and-white, and Wanda has some character traits that make her a good girlfriend. Most importantly, she's loyal to those she loves and would move the Earth and Heaven to help them. That said, Wanda has one major problem - she's unstable and lacks control over her powers and emotions sometimes. That might be attractive at first but would make building a relationship with her dangerous in the long term.

Best: Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter MCU

Peggy lived in times when women hard to work twice as hard as men to build a career. Yet she never gave up and made it work for herself. Peggy was strong, smart, and determined - but also had a soft side to her. When she cared about someone, she wasn't afraid to let it show. She was also pleasantly down to Earth, thanks to her lack of special powers. All in all, Peggy is the type of person who could make a long-term relationship work thanks to her stability.

Worst: Natasha Romanoff

Natasha works great as a friend - but not so much as a romantic partner. Because of her dark past, Natasha has qualms when it comes to forming relationships. And her one serious attempt at dating in the MCU failed because of her inner demons.

Natasha also has a lot of secret work that she might not be able to share with her partner if he wasn't in the same line of work. And the lack of communication could cause a problem between them.

Best: Lady Sif

Even though Thor dated Jane Foster, he and Lady Sif might have been a much better couple. They were certainly better matched when it came to their warrior spirits and fighting skills. Lady Sif was a good friend of Thor for a long time, one of his fellow warriors. She also seemed to like him. Lady Sif came across as brave, intelligent, and loyal, and if she put her mind to it, it looks like she could make her relationships work.

Worst: Carol Danvers

Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel

Despite what some people might think about her, Carol Danvers does have a sense of humor. She's not as strict as she seems at first, and she cares about the people she considers her close friends. But she's also extremely busy. Captain Marvel is one of the few MCU superheroes who can freely move across space. That means she spends a lot of time away from Earth and wouldn't always be there for her partner if he lived on Earth. What's more, she doesn't seem to age which would also complicate things in the long run.

Best: Ana Jarvis

Ana Jarvis

Ana Jarvis is only a side character on the show Agent Carter... yet she deserves a mention. Ana is married to Edwin Jarvis (aka the original Jarvis) who later becomes Peggy Carter's partner in crime, sidekick, and one of her best friends.

But back to Ana. She's smart, caring, has a sense of humor, and what's more, isn't jealous of her husband's close relationship with Peggy. She, therefore, seems like a good person to have by one's side.

Worst: Shuri

Shuri firing two guns in Black Panther

This might be a bit of a moot point for some. Shuri has a lot of positive traits - she's brilliant, brave, and cares about her family. She's the type of person who's not afraid to go into battle for those she loves. But she also has the tendency to remind others that they're not as smart as her. Perhaps she'll grow out of it, but for now, not everyone wants to hear they're not on the same intellectual level as her.

Best: Liz Allan

Liz tells Peter she'll go to Homecoming with him

Poor Liz doesn't get the credit she's due. Before it became obvious her dad was the supervillain Vulture, it looked like there was nothing standing in the way for Liz and Peter to become a couple. Liz was the popular girl in their school, yet she didn't let others sway her opinion and she liked Peter who was bullied by others, most notably Flash. Liz was also sweet, kind to her friends, smart, and driven - all of which are character traits that would make her a good girlfriend.

Worst: Nebula

An image of Nebula in a fighting pose in Guardians of the Galaxy

To be fair to Nebula, it's not her fault that she probably wouldn't excel at romantic relationships. Because of her sadistic adoptive father Thanos, who tortured her, Nebula cast her emotions aside and focused on fighting and killing. She has been through many traumatic experiences and isn't over them. And even though she managed to build friendships in the MCU, she still has a long way to go before she'll be able to truly open up to people.
