With Thor: Love & Thunder, Ms. Marvel, and Hawkeye, the MCU is introducing new characters who are particularly known for their courage and keenness to help others. Kamala Khan goes the extra mile to help her community, Jane Foster sacrifices her life to defeat Gorr, and Kate Bishop transitions to the superhero life to help Hawkeye, even when the Avenger constantly tries to discourage her from doing so.
However, not all characters in the MCU are this heroic, even if they are powerful superheroes. In the Harry Potter universe, those who are brave, loyal and chivalrous belong to the Gryffindor house, and it's interesting to analyze which MCU characters could be sorted into the most heroic Hogwarts house.
Okoye
Okoye is the General of the Dora Milaje, a powerful group of warriors whose main responsibility is protecting Wakanda's king. Her deep loyalty to Wakanda took her to even question her servitude to her king, Erik Killmonger, and she ultimately helps T'Challa get the throne back because it's the right thing to do for her country.
On top of that, Okoye fought ferociously during Endgame to protect Wakanda and the world from Thanos' evil agenda. She constantly goes into battle without displaying any fear because her main priority is always to keep her community safe. This strong character displays a great commitment to her people and unmatchable courage that any Gryffindor would envy.
Valkyrie
Even though Valkyrie has traits from the Slytherin house, such as willing to do everything to survive, ultimately, she belongs to Gryffindor. When Valkyrie first entered the MCU, she was a bounty hunter in Saakar, and she captures Thor to sell him to the Grandmaster.
However, later on, she redeems herself by escaping Saakar with Thor and helping him defeat Hela. Although one unpopular opinion about Valkyrie is that she shouldn't be King, she's shown to be a great leader since she's in the command of New Asgard (which is an important trait of the lions). Still, it's her loyalty to Thor and the people she cares for that makes her a Gryffindor through and through.
Kamala Khan
Kamala Khan has always looked up to superheroes, especially her idol Captain Marvel. So, it's only logical that when she discovers she also has powers, she immediately embraces her superhero persona. However, this wouldn't be possible if Kamala wasn't incredibly courageous and willing to sacrifice herself for the general good.
The way Kamala stands up for others, especially for her community, illustrates a loyalty that undoubtedly positions her in the Gryffindor house. Her superhero suit coincidentally even has two of the house's colors: scarlet and golden, so it's probably meant to be.
Peter Quill
Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, started out as a bounty hunter, so many would believe his ambition belongs to a Slytherin. However, as time passed, it became obvious that his life of crime had always been circumstantial. When given the chance to become a hero, he took it.
Star-Lord never backs out of a fight. Some of Peter Quill's traits in the MCU are recklessness and impulsiveness, but he's also brave and determined. He’s quick to recognize between good and evil, and can’t help to do something to fix it. Even during his time with the Ravagers, Peter valued loyalty as a core value of the gang, making him a true Gryffindor.
Captain America/Sam Wilson
Although many characters in the MCU believe that Sam wasn't ready to take up the mantle of Captain America, fans were more than delighted when he stood his ground against the critics and prove he was more than worthy. Sam does his best to fight for the rights of people in vulnerable positions without hurting anyone in the process. His respect for others and admirable kindness almost places him in Hufflepuff, but the way he runs into a fight to protect others ultimately makes him a Gryffindor.
Sam Wilson is the kind of person who always stands for what he believes is right. Given his determination to create a better world and the loyalty he's displayed to Steve Rogers, the Sorter Hat would barely touch Sam's head before shouting Gryffindor.
Peggy Carter
Although Peggy Carter is one of the most underrated MCU characters, in reality, she's one of the most impressive characters in the MCU. Her work with the Strategic Scientific Reserve was crucial to eradicating HYDRA, and she was fundamental for Steve Roger's development as a superhero.
Peggy has shown great heroism and loyalty towards her own principles, dedicating her entire life to the good of the world, and eventually taking charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not for nothing if things had been slightly different, she would have become Captain Carter, as it was portrayed in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
Kate Bishop
Although Kate can be awkward and quirky, she's also a brave superhero with a thirst for adventure. Since she was a kid, she's been training to become a skillful archer, just like her idol, Hawkeye. Her hard work yielded very positive results, with Kate becoming an impressive superhero.
Even though Kate Bishop makes some questionable choices throughout the show, ultimately, she has the best intentions at heart. She's loyal to Hawkeye, even when he believes he doesn't need her, and determinedly helps him when Yelena and the Tracksuit Mafia are going after him. Just like Harry Potter stepping up to save the Philosopher's Stone, Kate doesn't doubt to become a superhero when the time comes.
Thor
Much like most Gryffindors, Thor can be impulsive, but he also displays great courage. In fact, these traits are pretty much the core of his personality. Since he was younger, all Thor has wanted is to prove he's worthy of being called a hero. He values loyalty, cares about being on the right side of a fight, and takes a lot of pride in using his powers to help others.
Not only is Thor brave and loyal, but he's a leader in a culture that values virtue and chivalry, much like Godric Gryffindor himself. Asgardians take a lot of pride in dying in battle and in their willingness to sacrifice themselves for the general good, ideals that align very well with the lion's house.
Carol Danvers
Even before becoming Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was already a hero. Originally a U.S Air Force pilot, Carol always looked for adventure. This zest for life put her on the path to becoming a superhero that is the ultimate embodiment of a Gryffindor.
Brave and determined, Captain Marvel protects the planet from extraterrestrial threats without forgetting to be kind to others too. After all, after her time with the Kree, she understands how it feels to be different. No wonder why Kamala Khan looks up to her.
Captain America/Steve Rogers
Steve Rogers embodies Gryffindor's ideals to perfection. While some consider him stubborn, Steve strives to always defend his principles and morals, even when they go against the government he represents. On top of that, there's nothing more valiant than Steve accepting an experimental serum to be able to protect the world.
Steve might be more of a Gryffindor than Godric himself. He's always kind, and his loyalty to the people he loves never falters. His impact on others is so incredibly positive that his closest friends, Sam and Bucky, have gone the extra mile to protect his legacy.
