Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe witnessed the epic culmination of the Infinity Saga in Avengers: Endgame. Countless superheroes came together for the first time in a mighty battle against Thanos, defeating the most formidable villain to feature in the MCU so far. Endgame was a reward for long-term fans and a meeting point for the universe's mightiest heroes, many of whom had never interacted before.

Infinity War and Endgame remain the MCU's most ambitious crossover to date. However, many iconic characters fought beside each other on the battlefield without uttering a word to some of their comrades. Here are 10 MCU duos whose paths never crossed during the Infinity Saga.

Doctor Strange & Scarlet Witch

Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange share similar abilities, though their paths are yet to cross properly in the MCU, even though Wanda fought beside Stephen and the rest of the Avengers in Endgame. Although they proved they were credible challengers for Thanos, they haven't discussed their victories on-screen.

This is set to change in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will feature Scarlet Witch. The Master of the Mystical Arts could become Wanda's new mentor in the ways of magic.

Spider-Man & The Hulk

The Hulk was missing from the familial battle in Captain America: Civil War, having left Earth at the end of the Age of Ultron. Because of this, Bruce Banner missed out on Spider-Man's MCU debut and has yet to interact with the teenage superhero.

The two heroes fought on the same side during Endgame, but fans can expect to wait for a significant conversation between them. With Tony Stark gone, Bruce could step into his shoes as Peter's new mentor/science buddy.

The Wasp & Iron Man

The Wasp and Iron Man were both founding members of the Avengers in the comic books. Despite their intricate history together in the Marvel source material, their characters never interacted in the MCU; because of Tony's sacrifice in Endgame, they never will.

Hope Van Dyne was introduced later in the MCU, appearing for the first time in Ant-Man before stepping into the spotlight in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Time will tell if Hope becomes a key member of the team like her comic book counterpart.

Black Panther & Thor

Although Black Panther and Thor almost interacted in Infinity War, the two heroes haven't spoken so far in the MCU. T'Challa led his forces against Thanos' army when the Black Order invaded Wakanda. The God of Thunder unknowingly fought beside him after arriving to save the day with Stormbreaker.

Thor never formally met his fellow monarch, despite their proximity in Infinity War. Given Thor's departure with the Guardians in Endgame, fans will likely have long to wait for this interaction.

Captain Marvel & Loki

Captain Marvel made her debut in the franchise's first female-led installment in 2019. The superpowered space heroine has been missing from Earth for the majority of the MCU, which has hindered her from interacting with the Avengers' first antagonist.

Loki coveted the Tesseract, which gave Carol her powers, so a future interaction could be on the cards for their characters. The God of Mischief's escape in Endgame could cause him to come into Captain Marvel's orbit during their adventures in space.

Iron Man & Shuri

Tony Stark and Shuri, the smartest characters in the MCU, would have made an epic dream team if they had worked together during Endgame. Unfortunately, Shuri was snapped away by Thanos alongside her brother T'Challa, leaving Tony to figure out time travel alone.

It would have been great to see Tony and Shuri's dynamic as the most intelligent figures in the franchise. Both characters have enough similarities and differences to guarantee an iconic MCU interaction.

Shuri & Spider-Man

Another character the Wakandan princess has yet to interact with is the web-slinging superhero from Queens. Peter Parker, like his mentor Iron Man, shares significant similarities with Shuri. Both characters are teenage superheroes with fierce courage and impressive intellects.

Shuri may not be able to interact with Tony in an upcoming film due to his Endgame sacrifice, but she could still team up with Spider-Man to take on a new villainous force in the MCU.

Ant-Man & Star-Lord

Ant-Man and Star-Lord have been on separate adventures throughout the Infinity Saga. Peter Quill leads the Guardians of the Galaxy on missions in space, whereas Scott Lang remains on Earth, assisting the Avengers during crucial moments in Civil War and Endgame.

Quill and Lang are both uniquely comedic characters. Although their paths haven't converged yet, a future conversation between the two is guaranteed to promise one of the MCU's funniest interactions.

Black Widow & Gamora

Like Lang and Quill, Black Widow and Gamora have existed in opposite regions of the universe for most of their MCU tenure. Natasha Romanoff is one of the primary members of the Avengers, whereas Gamora made her debut in Guardians of the Galaxy as a founder of the team.

Gamora and Natasha had heartbreaking deaths in Infinity War and Endgame, respectively, that saw the two fiercest women in the galaxy perish on Vormir for the Soul Stone. Sadly, it is unlikely that fans will ever see this epic duo take on bad guys together.

The Winter Soldier & Nebula

Bucky Barnes debuted in the MCU during Captain America: The First Avenger before returning from the grave as a brainwashed antagonist in The Winter Soldier. Similarly, Nebula was introduced as Thanos' villainous daughter in Guardians of the Galaxy before she joined the Avengers in Endgame.

Bucky and Nebula haven't interacted so far, but a future team-up could happen. Both characters were forcibly and cybernetically enhanced and influenced by evil forces. These two could find common ground and deliver more epic action scenes.
