All 9 MCU Cameos & Characters Referenced In Ant-Man And The Wasp Quantumania

Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead For Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Like every other film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania includes plenty of references, cameos, and callbacks to other characters and events within the sprawling superhero franchise. Although the film remains relatively self-contained when it comes to other members of the Avengers, plenty of supporting characters from the MCU receive callbacks during the events of Quantumania, often in hilarious and entirely unexpected ways. In fact, the many cameos and callbacks throughout Quantumania are certainly proving to be some of the most fun Easter eggs in the film, making it a worthy addition to the ever-expanding pantheon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe filmography.

Quantumania continues to grow the MCU's cast with new characters like Kang the Conqueror, Quaz, Krylar, and Jentorra, all of whom are highlights of the film itself. The movie even sees the return of several long-lost characters like Corey Stoll's Darren Cross, now in the form of the supervillain MODOK. Despite each of these thrilling introductions, some of the film's best moments come as a result of characters who aren't members of Quantumania's main cast at all. Quick cameos from returning MCU stars, references to characters unseen in the film itself, and casting Easter Eggs that might go unnoticed upon a single viewing are all massive highlights of Quantumania.

9 Agent Jimmy Woo

Randall Park's magic-loving FBI agent Jimmy Woo makes a surprise cameo in Quantumania's opening montage. Scott Lang's former parole officer, first seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp, appears to have fostered a strong friendship with the Avenger since they were last seen together. Although their last onscreen encounter involved Lang awkwardly turning down Woo's dinner invitation, Quantumania shows the two dining together years later, implying that their friendship has blossomed offscreen. Even better, the brief shot ends with a reference to Scott Lang's infamous magic trick, as he pulls a credit card out of thin air to pay for their meal, once again impressing the overly enthusiastic FBI agent.

8 Spider-Man

As audiences await news on the next Spider-Man film in the MCU, the wallcrawler gets a cheeky shout-out in the opening montage of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While enjoying the benefits of his newly acquired fame, Scott Lang stops by his favorite café. Thinking that he recognizes the superhero, the shop owner offers Scott his order for free but hilariously confuses him with the more famous bug-themed Avenger. This gag may be played for laughs, but it also hints at Spider-Man's status in the MCU after Spider-Man: No Way Home, confirming that citizens are still very much aware of the superhero despite their memories of Peter Parker being erased.

7 The Hulk

Although the MCU recently introduced the Hulk's son Skaar in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Ant-Man evidently still associates the gamma-irradiated Avenger with a certain other child, as one scene in Quantumania makes clear. An early scene in the film debuts a snippet from Scott Lang's book, Look Out for the Little Guy, in which he recalls Bruce Banner's early experiments with time travel, as seen during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Scott relays his thoughts and utter confusion after the first test turned him into a baby. Hilariously, he even relays briefly wondering if he was now technically the Hulk's baby before being restored to his rightful age.

6 Captain America

Quantumania makes reference to one of the MCU's strongest supersoldiers, Captain America, early in its first act, continuing a hilarious gag that began in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Taking place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, the second Ant-Man film made it clear just how proud Scott Lang was to have fought alongside Steve Rogers and the other Avengers. Quantumania builds on this joke when Scott's friends and family poke fun at him by implying he had fought Captain America during the superhero civil war. Scott is quick to clarify that he fought alongside the Avenger, stating that it would be "crazy" to fight against him.

5 Dale

Although the many different Kang variants in Quantumania may be the film's biggest talking point for years to come, one surprising cameo from the first Ant-Man film certainly shouldn't go unnoticed. Greg Turkington reprises his role as Dale, the general manager at Baskin Robbins who fired Scott Lang after learning of his criminal activity despite privately agreeing with his actions. In Quantumania, Dale names Scott "Employee of the Century" after he and the Avengers saved the world from Thanos. Later on, the enthusiastic Baskin Robbins manager comes out of cake-making retirement to make Cassie's birthday cake which, as Scott realizes in the film's final moments, is utterly disgusting.

4 Thor

Thor's MCU future grows dark following a terrifying allusion in Quantumania. After Scott and Cassie Lang are captured by Kang the Conqueror's minions in the Quantum Realm, the multiversal villain attempts to sort through his scattered memories of previous encounters with the Avengers. He claims to have killed countless Avengers in the past and wonders if Scott is "the one with the hammer." Scott corrects Kang, telling him that he is thinking of Thor, though he also seizes the opportunity to claim that the mix-up is relatively common. Kang's reference, however, ominously forebodes that Thor could potentially die at his hands during the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

3 Loki

After meeting the Kang variant He Who Remains at the end of time, Loki is seen in the end-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania tracking down yet another variant of the universe-conquering supervillain. In what is likely a scene from the second season of Loki, the god of mischief watches in horror as a Kang variant, calling himself Victor Timely, in the early 20th century, unveils his early designs for a time-traveling machine. Recognizing Timely as a Kang variant, Loki confirms to his partner, Agent Mobius, that this is the man they are looking for, setting up their mission during the events of their Disney+ series' upcoming season.

2 Agent Mobius

After Loki's shocking finale revealed that Agent Mobius no longer recognized Loki after his meeting with He Who Remains, the TVA agent makes his second MCU appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's post-credit scene. Standing beside Loki at Victor Timely's presentation, Mobius nonchalantly remarks that the Kang variant doesn't seem nearly as terrifying as the god of mischief had made him out to be. While Owen Wilson's brief cameo reveals very little about his character's storyline, it does reveal that Mobius will continue to work alongside Loki in his upcoming adventures despite having no memories of their former partnership.

1 Veb

One of Quantumania's best cameos comes in the form of the brand-new character, Veb. The gelatinous inhabitant of the Quantum Realm, memorable for his infatuation with the many holes in Scott Lang's human anatomy, offers an opportunity for a key Ant-Man cast member to return in a voiceover role. David Dastmachian, who portrayed the ex-con Kurt in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp voices Veb. Dastmachian is one of several franchise cast members whose character did not return for the sequel, and although his original character was surely missed, his new role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania proves to be a highlight of the film.
