Warning: this article contains spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder.

Thor: Love & Thunder was released in theaters on July 8 and, after months of fan speculation on whether Darcy would appear in the new movie, it was confirmed when she showed up toward the beginning to console Jane during her chemo treatment.

Darcy Lewis is a fan-favorite character, mostly because of her hilarious dialogue and relatable personality. Even then, she can be serious and add to the story in meaningful ways, especially in WandaVision, where she stands against SWORD and attempts to help a dying Vision.

At the very beginning of Thor, Darcy is driving Erik and Jane toward the atmospheric anomaly that is Thor's banishment. When the storm appears to get worse, Darcy backs down and utters these words while turning the car around.

Darcy is a student intern working for Jane, and she's willing to do a lot for the astrophysicist, but speeding into certain death isn't one of those things. Any college student or alumni can relate to this statement. As much as they're paying for their education and with the amount of stress they're under, it is unlikely they would risk their lives for something like this.

"Woah. Does He Need CPR? Because I Totally Know CPR!"

Upon hitting Thor with the car, the God of Thunder initially seems unresponsive, and Darcy admires his physique. In a moment played for laughs, Darcy volunteers to perform CPR on him if necessary.

Darcy is extremely relatable, mainly thanks to the candid dialogue she's known for. She is a woman who knows what she wants and doesn't always think before sharing what's on her mind. In this instance, however, no blame can be thrown her way given Chris Hemsworth's whole get-up as Thor. Anyone who knows CPR would throw their lives away for the opportunity to save him.

Thor begins to explain Asgard and Mjölnir to Jane in the first Thor movie. Darcy is nearby and overhears the conversation. She butts in, and, unsure of the pronunciation, she comes up with the now famous "meow-meow."

Mjölnir is an extremely powerful hammer with some capabilities not ever mentioned in the movies. Several fans struggle to say the name of it correctly. Because Darcy also struggles, fans resort to quoting this line, and as a result, this piece of dialogue has become a meme and found a place in pop culture. Kat Dennings' delivery of this line is stellar, and it's interesting to wonder if this joke was partly made because of the actress' name.

"I Want To Throw Something! Jane, Give Me Your Shoe!"

In the second Thor, Jane and Darcy encounter a portal in London that sucks in objects and then throws them back out in a continuous loop until the object is interrupted. Darcy is instantly intrigued and asks to throw Jane's shoe in.

It's the little things in life that bring joy, and while this portal is a huge deal, Darcy is more excited by the show of it than the science behind it. She wants to toss something in, but of course, she'd rather use something of Jane's than risk losing one of her things. This whole sequence is pretty cool, and all of Darcy's dialogue is hilarious, especially when her intern decides to throw their car keys into the portal and they don't return.

When Jane returns from space with Thor, the whole gang orchestrates a plan to stop the dark elves from destroying the nine realms. They separate into two groups, and Darcy expresses concern as the leader of her crew.

This is yet another one of the character’s moments of comedic relief in the MCU that's understood whole-heartedly by a wide population of viewers. Often, the burden of responsibility is heavy, especially when one doesn't know what they're doing or is making things up as they go along. Darcy doesn't have all the knowledge Jane has or the magic Thor possesses, so she may feel out of her element. The important thing is that she trusts herself and believes that everything will go according to plan.

"Really Looking Forward To The Commemorative T-Shirt."

Darcy makes her return to the MCU when she's called to Westview to investigate the town and Monica's disappearance in WandaVision. She observes that the entire operation is made up of so many different types of people and cracks this joke.

SWORD's operation does seem similar to community projects such as theater camps and house-building programs that provide onsite living quarters and a commemorative t-shirt at the end. While this may be considered a throwaway line, Darcy's observation is on point. Also, who wouldn't love to see what this Westview T-shirt looks like? If Darcy or Jimmy Woo return to the MCU, they better be wearing them.

"I Need A TV. An Old One. Like, Not Flat."

As Darcy gets situated on base, she makes her first scientific observations. She notices an old broadcast signal and directs a SWORD agent to get a hold of an old television set.

In WandaVision, it is revealed that sometime between Thor: The Dark World and this show, Darcy earned her Doctorate. While she may finally have that advanced degree, she keeps her language simple and easy to understand. She maintains the sarcastic charm and humor fans have come to love her for. It's also funny to reflect on how technology has evolved, just as the majority of the series shows how sitcoms have evolved over the past century.

"He Brought The Wrong Face."

Darcy reacts to the Pietro twist, and when others bring it up around her, she expresses her anger and confusion over the recast. At the end of the fifth episode of WandaVision, audiences were shocked to see Evan Peters knock on Wanda’s door, playing the character of Pietro Maximoff.

Darcy is reacting just as the fans are, and she’s not too happy that he has a different face. Marvel fans were mixed on this twist when the episode aired, many hoping this could be what connects the X-Men to the MCU. In the end, Peters’ appearance wasn’t paid off, and Darcy’s aggressive comments about the terrible plot twist in the show became a common opinion held by fans.

"I Put In For The Bearded Lady..."

To save Vision, Wanda extends the hex and turns all the SWORD agents and soldiers into circus folk. Darcy becomes an escape artist but confesses she would have rather been a bearded lady.

Everything about this moment is fantastic. Even under Wanda’s control, Darcy is hilarious. Of course, she would rather be a bearded lady than her current act. It seems much cooler to her. At the same time, Darcy can be self-absorbed, so she goes on to blame her inability to get the role she wants on her stunning good looks and "alabaster complexion." This line is perfect for her, and it becomes even better when it’s taken into account that she’s playing a character within a character.

Darcy makes an appearance in the latest Thor movie, resulting in a callback to the first two films. She visits Jane at the hospital to support her friend during chemo treatment.

This is the only Love & Thunder scene Darcy appears in, but it’s evident she cares about Jane’s well-being. Compared to most of her dialogue in the MCU, this line is more serious and thought-provoking. It gives audiences a look at a different side of the sarcastic Doctor as she goes on to explain that the universe wants Jane to "slow down" and give her body a chance to fight cancer. Of course, her lines turn into her usual kind of dialogue when she suggests Jane play the “space Viking card” and seek out Thor.
