The MCU is often full of various different types of heroes and villains, some who wield enhanced abilities or powers, while others may wield a weapon. It can vary from swords and spears all the way to high-tech suits of armor with various lasers and guns.

While some characters in the MCU may wield a weapon alongside their powers, there are others whose only "power" is their weapons. The future of the MCU may be paving the way for more superheroes to be added but there is still a growing roster of weapons experts.

War Machine

James Rhodes, better known as War Machine, made his debut in Iron Man as a close friend of Tony Stark and one of the first people to find out that SHIELD consultant is Iron Man. While he doesn't suit up in the first Iron Man, it isn't long before he's fighting alongside Iron Man in Iron Man 2 and has continued fighting alongside Tony in the MCU ever since.

His suit, which is fully loaded with various types of guns and missiles, is a bit more focused on everyday weapons compared to Tony's who uses more energy weapons. Rhodey still has a very bright future in the MCU as he is getting his own Disney+ show, Armor Wars, which does not have a release date as of yet.

Hawkeye

Clint Barton, A.K.A. Hawkeye, is one of the original 6 Avengers and one of two who do not have any special abilities or, in Tony's case, a suit of armor. Instead, Clint's only claim to fame is his incredible aim and his trusty bow. His arrow case has various attachments that can explode, melt, or break apart at his will with a controller on the bow.

While he may not be the strongest Avenger, he is a valuable member of the team and is one of the few that Nick Fury trusts with sensitive missions and information. As of now, it is expected that Clint will be passing on his title of Hawkeye to Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye Diseny+ series.

Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff, A.K.A. The Black Widow has made her place in the MCU as one of the more important members of the Avengers and often the soul of the team, bringing them together when they drift apart. She immediately takes the lead in Avengers Endgame, keeping everyone connected no matter how far away they were from each other.

There's a reason why many MCU fans consider her as one of Nick Fury's most powerful allies. Natasha is an expert fighter, marksman, and spy in every sense of the word. Before she was recruited by SHIELD, it was revealed that Natasha was one of the most deadly assassins to come from the Red Room, killing hundreds of enemies with accurate precision and getting out undetected. Black Widow certainly demonstrated her skills.

Gamora

The Daughter of Thanos, Gamora is known across the galaxy for her ruthlessness and her incredible skill with a sword. She will often go into battle with just a sword and can hold her own against any enemy.

While she may have not actually killed Thanos in Infinity War, she does show incredible skill while fighting the reality stone's version of him. The fact that Gamora also won several duels against Nebula shows how skilled and talented she is.

Hela

The Goddess of Death may have not been in the MCU for long, but she made a huge impression on fans in her debut in Thor Ragnarok. Her power, which only gets stronger the longer she is in Asgard, is the ability to create any weapon she wants to wield.

She is also one of a very few people who can say they are able to wield Mjolnir, originally being the wielder before she was forced to live her days in Hel, and destroying it when Thor throws it at her in a fight. When she finally makes her return to Asgard and is greeted by Asgard's entire army, she single handily takes down everyone with her various weapons and is even able to create large spears that burst from the ground and take down the airships.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is one of the strongest fighters in the MCU and ever since Thor decided to pass the title onto her instead of fumbling his way through it she is now the King of Asgard. She made her debut in Thor: Ragnarok and it is made clear from the beginning that she is a strong fighter and not someone to be messed with.

She is equipped with Dragonfang, the weapon of the Valkyries, which is a powerful sword that is able to cut through almost anything, and she also typically rides on the back of her Pegasus. She is expected to make her return alongside Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder and fans are hopeful that she will remain the MCU for a while.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon is currently one of the smartest characters in the MCU and a weapons expert, unlike most others. He has often gotten out of many situations by creating either weapons or bombs out of the surrounding items he has available.

On top of that, when he is equipped with his various weapons and gadgets, he is almost untouchable, much like in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 when is able to fight back most of the Ravagers. He forged one of the best bromances in the MCU with Thor in Infinity War and Endgame and will be returning to the MCU in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.

Thor

Thor is one of the strongest Avengers in the MCU, being of the few who are able to fight the Hulk one-on-one, and his weapon choice has always helped him. He used to wield the legendary Mjolnir, a hammer forged in the stars and only able to be used by those deemed worthy.

After having his hammer destroyed by Hela, he attempts to make do with dual-wielding swords and eventually his father's spear, but it isn't until he has Stormbreaker, his giant Axe, that he is whole again. While Thor may be one of the oldest members in the MCU, Chris Hemsworth has made it clear Thor 4 isn't his last MCU movie and he'd love to continue playing Thor as long as he is allowed.

Iron Man

When it comes to weapons in the MCU, fans cannot hold a conversation without mentioning Iron Man, whose whole gimmick is that he is in a suit of armor equipped with high-tech weapons. Throughout his time in the MCU, he is consistently upgrading and creating new weapons.

Iron Man will forever live on as one of the smartest characters in the MCU and his suit of armor and weapons is beloved and respected by all. While he isn't expected to return to the MCU since his death in Endgame, his legacy will live on through both James Rhodes, A.K.A. War MAchine, and Riri Williams, A.K.A. Ironheart, in the upcoming series Ironheart.

Shuri

The smartest person in the MCU, Shuri is trusted with all scientific development in Wakanda and is responsible for many of the weapons wielded by Wakandans, including Black Panther. She was the first to use nano-technology in the MCU for Black Panther's armor and is responsible for the kinetic absorption ability.

On top of all her achievements, she has also created dual-wielded blasters for her fists that she uses when she takes part in battles. While she may not be the strongest fighter, she is more than able to hold her own in battle and her intelligence helps her in any battle.
